Candidate Questionaire Season
Are your liberal groups getting their questionnaire’s together? I would be, but I don’t have any of the candidate’s email addresses, and I’m too lazy to go to everyone’s web site and look for the general mailbox address. Also, it would be a pretty short questionnaire. I’d ask the two part question I always ask, which is…
Do you think that there could be a “Democratic” approach to the office of ________, and if so, what would your Democratic approach to the office of ___________ look like?
I’d ask that to John Carney, to all the Lt Governor candidates, House candidates and Insurance Commissioner candidates. An honest answer to that question will tell you everything you need to know about that person.
Jack Markell gave a pretty good answer to that when he was running against Carney. Not surprisingly, the best answer ever was given by Matt Denn when he was running for Insurance Commissioner.
Jason,
How about reprinting those answers from Markell and Denn … or providing a link?
I think we’d love to compare promise vs. performance on the governor.
Carney won’t answer that but if he did, he would use the word “bipartisan” at least three times.
Can’t keep complaining about Carney if no one will take him on!!!!!!!
That progressive law professor Zephyr Teachout ran against Andrew Cuomo and got a surprising huge number of votes. Now shes the favorite to win a congressional seat In NY. A liberal campaign against Carney could launch a political career if a true progressive stepped up…. Look at what Bernie did to Hillary. Moved her left….
@puck..LOL.
@Mediawatch.
Denn was before I was blogging, but I committed it (mostly) to memory.
He said something close to, “I do think that there is a Democratic approach to the office and it is simply looking out for the little guy. The Insurance companies have a lot people looking out for them, but most people don’t.”
I don;t remember Markell’s Maybe I was being generous to say that his was okay.
“Can’t keep complaining about Carney if no one will take him on”
Yes, you can. Don’t know where you got that shit but you’re taking bad advice. If you think it’s such good advice take it yourself.
I have a better question for two of the three you pictured: If you don’t get this job, do you have any plans for a job that doesn’t require political connections to get?
My prediction. Carney will give Lisa Blunt Rochester some cabinet job if she loses. Barney will go chase some veteran/ defense job at the federal level with the Clinton administration. I think Townsend will win because he’s the most progressive and very smart lawmaker.
Ok. I’ll play. Potential Questionnaire Question.
What would you do if you found yourself in the Conservatory, with a candlestick, and alone with Karen Weldin Stuart?
Then sort the answers from pro-business to Progressive….
