Delaware Democrats Elect Delegates for DNC

Filed in Delaware, Featured by on May 8, 2016

Yesterday, in Dover, the state Democratic Party elected their delegates for the Democratic National Convention this summer in Philadelphia. Interestingly enough I had to pull the list of delegates from The News Journal and not the Delaware Democratic Party website.

  • Eight subdivision-level delegates pledged to Clinton; Italo Carrieri-Russo, Sean Finnigan, Erik Raser-Schramm, Betsy Maron, Courtney McGregor, Margaret Fuller, Sandy Taylor and Mitch Crane.
  • Six subdivision-level delegates pledged to Sanders; Glen Schmiesing, Janet Selden, Colby Owens, Douglas Drummond, Valarie Thompson and Catherine Ciferni.
  • Wilmington Council President Theo Gregory as a party leader and elected official delegate for Sanders.
  • Senate President Pro Tem Patricia Blevins, D-Elsmere, to be a party leader and elected official delegate for Clinton.
  • Three at-large delegates pledged to Clinton; Christofer Johnson, Rep. Debra Heffernan, D-Bellefonte, and Lydia York.
  • Two at-large delegates pledged to Sanders; Mona Parikh and Terri McIvor.

And there’s Mitch Crane, party hack. Amazing how an unsuccessful politician from Pennsylvania can come to Delaware, lose an election and fail upwards.

Wonder no longer about his attack-dog stance about his candidate.

Mitch Crane works his ass off and gets shit done. If the Delaware Democratic Party becomes more progressive in the next decade it will be because of Crane, not in spite of him.

Sander’s delegate haul slightly outperformed his vote total. Yeah Delaware Democratic Party. There is hope for you fuckers.

    This! 100% this!

Why some people think it’s cool to be mean is beyond me.

Does that mean the delegates didn’t honor the will of the people? I thought this democratic revolution wasn’t about that.

LOL. They don’t think it’s cool. They are just mean. It’s who they are. Perhaps there were environmental or experiential contributing factors. Or perhaps it’s genetic. It doesn’t matter. What matters is whether you allow them to control your behavior.

My objective is always to never allow anyone to harsh my mellow. If I do, it’s tantamount to giving them power over how I feel or how I behave. Unfortunately a great many people are validated through others thoughts and words. Over a long period of time I have become self-validating. Some might be critical of that by opining that I am delusional, but so what? If I am delusional, my delusion is a better place than their reality. In short, it’s good to be me. It sucks to be them.
