Ted Cruz to announce some stupid bullshit at 4:00 today
He should be announcing that he is dropping out on the grounds that he is widely hated. But it will probably be to announce his bold proposal to prevent Trans people from ever going to the bathroom…ever under any circumstances. Or, his bold pick of the corpse of Margaret Thatcher as a running mate. Who knows? Cruz is a has been. Fuck that weirdo.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) told reporters on Wednesday that he will make a “major announcement” in Indiana at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
Hoping to keep the media spotlight focused on his longshot campaign to wrest the nomination from Trump after losses in Tuesday night’s primary, Cruz told reporters on Wednesday morning that he hopes Indiana voters will back his “positive, optimistic, forward-looking, conservative campaign.”
Looks like he is going to give Carly Fiorina another shot at not being on the ticket.
Because having a woman as your running mate will win women voters – just ask John McCain.
actually… the more I think about this theoretical announcement, the more I like it…. for all the wrong reasons.
Donald Trump will start being horrible and sexist to Fiorina again, dispelling the sure-to-come false media narrative that he is only mean to Clinton. If Cruz drags this out till the convention, Trump will not be able to make a false, media-enabled pivot to the center until after what will be a VERY ugly convention. I think the Dems need about a month until all is forgiven and all hatchets are buried.
What is Cruz thinking here? This looks so desperate. Has anyone ever named a running mate while simultaneously losing the nomination?
My initial thought was that Cruz has no expectations of winning or he would have chosen a more — electable running mate. You know, someone who could attract a demographic that needs to win. I can even fathom the strategy that led him to select Fiorina.
In 1976 Reagan named Richard Schweiker as his running mate at the convention prior to balloting.
Maybe he picked the first person who like him?
The “stop Trump” effort is being run by the “stop Obamacare from passing” people. Their track record speaks for itself.
