Black vs. Blue: Where is the justice?
A white cop on an overwhelming white police force severely injures a surrendering black suspect, and a white jury lets him off to the cheers of white president of his police union. And you’re telling me race isn’t important?
Feelin’ proud Dover? If you’ve seen the video the man was on the ground when he was kicked, totally unjustified, incredibly unprofessional. As noted this officer has a long history of abuse, not allowed to be presented in court. Come on conservatives, defend this.
Does he have a civil case? Is there anyone in the DE legal community that would take it?
Feel sure a civil suit will follow, the burden of proof is much less and I’m sure an assortment of lawyers saw the vid and thought “ca-ching!”.

From what I understand the civil suit was teed up first, while awaiting the wheels of justice. It was settled; presumably with the normal confidentially clauses which is why it has been in the public view.
It seemed inconceivable to me that he could have been found not guilty. After watching the video several times, it was clear to me and everyone I had spoken to that this guy should not have either a gun or a badge that gives him police power over other people. This was the clear-cut act of a bully intending to do physical damage to a suspect who was clearly following the commands of the police officer. There will be no civil suit in this case, as the victim has already accepted a $15,000 payment in lieu of a lawsuit, according to news sources. This incident is indeed a clear case of racism.
Did they at least fire the guy for blatant misconduct?
