Which Delaware Democrat is best at articulating the core values of the Democratic Party ?

Filed in National by on November 5, 2015

This is a discussion thread for the current poll. My view is that, taken as a whole, Democratic Party does a pretty shit ass job articulating the core values of the Democratic Party, because whatever “core values” the party once had have been raped, stabbed and left in for dead in a dumpster somewhere.

Gordon? The core values of the Tammany Hall Democratic Party I suppose.

  2. Delaware Dem says:

    Matt Denn or Bryan Townsend.

  3. Articulation is Townsend’s strong suit. If he stays his course into Congress, he’ll be in some hostile waters surrounded by the Establishment Parties and the Crazies with the way he speaks and what he speaks about.

  4. AQC says:

Well, articulating and practicing these principles are definitely two different things. I’d have to say Coons is best at articulating them.

  5. anon says:

Matt Denn. No contest. He’s the most decent human being in Delaware politics and that comes across every time you speak with him or hear him speak.

You also need to add Kim Williams to your choices, she isn’t shy about giving comments to the news about where the state/party is moving in the wrong direction.

  6. John Young says:

Kim Williams, Sean Lynn, John Kowalko top three.

  7. Jason330 says:

Apologies. I’ll add Kim Williams now.

  8. Matt Denn, I agree. His message and manner are inclusive and optimistic.

  9. Anonymous says:

    Matt Denn.

  10. Geezer says:

The core values of the Democratic Party? What would those be?

  11. Jason330 says:

    Exactly.

  12. Jason330 says:

I agree with the 4 Lynn voters. He keeps it Democratic.

  13. cjm says:

    Kowalko

  14. SussexAnon says:

Aside from being as useless as tits on a bull when it comes to voting problems in the city of Rehoboth, yeah, Matt Denn.

  15. Jason330 says:

It cracks me up that Schwartzkopf got a vote.

  16. Emma says:

There are multiple good Dems. It’s hard to pick just one.

  17. stan merriman says:

My vote, Kim Williams. Sadly, the Del Dems values statement in the form of our Platform is…..get this, 7 years old and may not be updated for two more years. A revision in 2013 fell apart at Convention because….get this, there was no diversity on the committee….ie: no African Americans. Yet, no one in the Party structure has the guts to get a drafting group going, apparently feeling no one gives a shit.

  18. Jason330 says:

Whenever I feel like I know just how pitiful the Delaware Democratic Party is under Tom Carper, a piece of evidence surfaces that makes it even more pitiful.

  19. Sarah W. says:

Theo is on this ballot and Kevin Kelley isn’t? Kevin Kelley makes himself available to those who need it most. Kevin has helped many in my community with job opportunities and the resources they need. Kevin has my vote in next year’s Democratic Primary.

  20. Jason330 says:

Sorry about the omission. I’ll add Kelly now.
