Another GOP “Truth Gaffe” ..this time, Planned Parenthood

Filed in National by on October 9, 2015

This admission, by Chaffetz, is going to enrage conservatives who think that the point of government is to waste taxpayers money on partisan witch hunts.

Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz has just admitted that the GOP’s investigation into Planned Parenthood’s misuse of federal funds turned out to be a dud.

“Did I look at the finances and have a hearing specifically as to the revenue portion and how they spend? Yes. Was there any wrongdoing? I didn’t find any,”

Are contraceptives and other female medical requirements covered under ACA (mammograms)? No one has been able to answer this directly for me.

Anon- that’s probably because there isn’t a direct answer anymore. It used to be “Yes.”. With each lawsuit challenging the requirements of employers to provide coverage, it has changed to “Yes, but…exception 1, exception 2”.

Contraceptives and other medical procedures are covered under ACA plans unless it’s an employer sponsored plan and the Corporation is “morally” or “religiously” opposed to contraceptives or whatever other medical device/procedure is guilty of offending Corporations at any given time. At least that’s where I believe it stands now.

I think the issue is the slave states that refused the medicade funding

Thanks Brian! Also issues like this continue to be a focus of the GOP. At a certain point they need to look at demographics and realize placating to a population that will be dead in 20 years will get them nowhere. The fight continues…

Perhaps, but I expect the Republicans will hold onto the Angry White Man Strategy as long as they can , another ten years or more is not out of the question. 2016 will be interesting, a resounding defeat will move the “whites only” game closer to the grave. A win of any sort will set it in stone for the near distant future. As for Benghazi and Planned Parenthood the truth matters not, and I’m sure the Republicans can manufacture as many “scandals” as they need in short order to replace them.
