I am liking the new Hillary Offensive

Filed in National by on October 6, 2015

First it was the Charm Offensive with Saturday Night Live. Followed up by a Town Hall aired live on NBC and MSNBC. Where she was fiesty, on the attack and compassionate and sweet at the same time.

And now she is out with a pretty great ad.

Finally, the first Democratic debate is coming next week. Can’t wait.

  1. Geezer says:

And yet she’s still Hillary Clinton. If only there were some way to fix that.

  2. Jason330 says:

If she gets called in front of that sham select committee again, I hope she breaks a chair over Gowdy’s head.

  3. Anonymous says:

So, basically what your saying is; Hillary is a chameleon and you don’t know which one your going to get.
We really want that on the pulse of the nation!

  4. Delaware Dem says:

No, Anonymous, that is what you are saying. And of course, in saying that, you are lying once again. Nothing in this post shows her to be a chameleon. You just hate her because she is a strong woman who is calling out your Republican fascist bullshit.

  5. mouse says:

Nah ha, macho talk radio bullies lose again

  6. Jason330 says:

In terms of general election strategy, being nice and seeking the center makes no sense. The electorate is highly polarized. The path to victory is making sure your voters are more fired up than the other guy’s voters. I’m glad to see Secretary Clinton appears to be accepting this truth and acting on it.

It is all about GOTV and no Democrat can win by depressing Dem turnout in search of the votes of moderates.

  7. Anonymous says:

“You just hate her because she is a strong woman who is calling out your Republican fascist bullshit.”

No. Now your lying. I don’t hate anyone. I like strong women. I may not like her views or like that she lacks experience, but why should I hate someone I don’t even know. I don’t hate you, might not like your view points, but I don’t hate you.

Maybe you have a complex? Do You have a complex, DD?

  8. pandora says:

“or like that she lacks experience”

Complete BS. Anonymous’ views on Hillary are highly personal. That much is apparent. Fine. He should just own it.

  9. Anonymous says:

Pandora say what you want. she was elected a Senator in New York, then quit after her 2nd term., to run for Pres. So after the first year, that the people entrusted her she quit!
Then she quit after, being Sec. of State.
She has Never ran a business, not a team, nothing. As a Governor you have budgets, deal with all kinds of issues, not as Senator.
Her & Bill left the Whitehouse almost broke, remember! How soon we forget, Miss P

  10. Liberal Elite says:

Sorry Anon… There is no one running on either side who has more experience and more diverse experience than she has… no one.

    You think otherwise??? Name him/her.

  11. Tom Kline says:

It’s easy to understand why Bill screwed around with other woman his entire marriage.

  12. Delawarelefty says:

Yeah Tom, because real men always hate woman who know how to bust balls!

  13. Liberal Elite says:

    Time for a Hillary joke…

So Hillary and Bill were riding through Arkansas in their limo and the driver needed to stop for fuel. An old man came out to put fuel in the limo.
“Hey Hill… Isn’t that guy someone you used to date in High School?”
    “It might be…”
“Ha! Ha! Just think how your life would have turned out if you had married him.”
“Yea? Probably not so different for me, but maybe for you.”
    “For me? How so?”
“He’d be sitting here next to me, and you’d be out there pumping gas.”

  14. Anonymous says:

LE: Joe Biden & Bernie Sanders!!

  15. Liberal Elite says:

More experience? More diverse experience? You’re kidding… right?

Biden: Elected to the Senate at age 30, VP… That’s the short story.

Sanders: Anti-war activist, Mayor at age 40, Congress at age 49, and the Senate at age 65… That the short story.

Hillary: Congressional legal counsel at age 27, Chair of Legal Services Corp at age 31, AK First lady at age 32, US First lady at age 45, US Senate at age 53, Secretary of State at age 62.

  16. Anonymous says:

OK LE, My Wife is an engineer. We’ve been married over 20 years, I must be an engineer too.

    What a joke!

  17. pandora says:

Wow, Anonymous. Did you really take Hillary’s accomplishments and make them her husband’s? Out of everything she’s done you choose to focus on her being first lady? As if that’s it? Gotta love misogyny. Because that’s what this is. You have yet to list one policy of Hillary’s you have a problem with (and they do exist, but they aren’t your focus). You have yet to mention anything specific about her tenure as Sec. of State (or any other specifics from any other position she has held).

You simply don’t like her… because. Lazy.

  18. Anonymous says:

Pandora, you as a women support Hillary?? I’m very surprised.

When her foundation, along with Bill and Chelsea except money from Saudi Arabia, which doesn’t let women drive. And , she is all about women’s rights. What a crock!
How is she going to be tough on foreign country’s, while taking donations from the very same. I think you call that a Conflict of interest.
How does she relate to the middle class, when she commands 6-figure speaking engagements.

  19. Geezer says:

@LE: There’s enough to dislike about Hillary without blaming her for Bill.

  20. Geezer says:

@anonymous: If you can’t think of any valid reasons to vote against her, shut up. You’re only hurting your cause.

  21. pandora says:

Did I say Hillary was my preferred candidate? Nope. I’m simply calling you out for your empty rhetoric. Reducing Hillary to her role as Bill’s wife is not only insulting, it’s stunningly stupid. There’s plenty to call her out on, but you don’t seem to be capable of dealing with her accomplishments/failures without tying them to a man.

But if you’ve set your bar at who associates with who, then I’ll hold you to that.

  22. Dorian Gray says:

The ultimate gag of this entire post is its first sentence. HR Clinton isn’t a charming person, or at least her public persona isn’t especially electrifying or charismatic. The pressure to get out there and “loosen up” is doing real harm because it seems to me she not that type of person. It’s forced and buffoonish.

But so what? Somebody needs to stay home reading reports and working out policy strategies while the rest of us yuck it up in some pub somewhere. I don’t even care if she unaffable. She isn’t campaigning for my friendship. The idea that she doesn’t possess the prerequisite qualifications is dumb on a really incredible scale, but not necessarily exceptional for Anonymous, et al. She is a very accomplished attorney as well as a past US Senator and Secretary of State. She’s qualified to be President.

The personal attacks are to be expected and, as they say come with the territory, but the especially vile and repellent ones (e.g. Tom Kline’s, see above) say much more about the attacker than the target.

There are plenty of things to criticise re the Clintons, Hill included, (e.g. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/10/07/chinese-billionaire-arrested-in-u-n-bribery-case-has-clinton-links.html), without resorting to the obvious, the boring and the stupid.

  23. Anonymous says:

She took money from foreign Governments, while she was SOS!

  24. Geezer says:

Your problem, anonymous, is that you hate everything about her. You therefore cannot understand what about her would resonate as negative with people who don’t care about her either way.

She “took money from foreign governments”? Who gives a fuck, besides people who despise the Clintons? Ever looked up the financial ties between the Bush dynasty and the Saudis, who are the nastiest fucks in the entire Middle East except for the Israelis?

As I said earlier, you should just shut up, because everything you say hurts your case.

  25. Tom Kline says:

Ummm She would be NO WHERE without Bill. Do you seriously believe she could have gone this far on her own? She would have gone to jail from the WhiteWater scandal without Slick Willy…

  26. puck says:

Whitewater was a Republican scandal. The scandal was the frivolous investigation.

  27. Geezer says:

And she would have accomplished more herself had she never gone to Arkansas.

Seriously, dude — you’re suggesting that someone who could have worked in DC straight out of the box instead furthered her career BY MOVING TO ARKANSAS! Do you see the logical flaw in your argument?

  28. Liberal Elite says:

@TK “Ummm She would be NO WHERE without Bill.”

I think you have that backwards… Bill owes his success to Hillary. She was the brains of their team.

Why do you think that he was so willing to let Hillary try to fix healthcare?
If not for the greedy rent seekers, she would have had a damn good solution.
