    To be clear on a rule that was adopted recently – the official “drop” date is when Perry endorses another candidate. That could still be a while from now.

    So he could theoretically not endorse until after the NH primary and he is still considered as “running”? That seems like a weakness in the calculation, especially when Perry decides that he wants to spend time with his family and drops out of sight for 6 months.

    I agree. All in favor..? Aye! Motion passed. “Campaign suspended” is a legal term used by the FEC. I say we use that as the drop.
