DL GOP Fantasy Pool Update – Rick Santorum-mania…catch the fire!

Filed in National by on May 28, 2015

Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps on at it’s petty pace, and still only one real announcement since my last update back in 1873.

Rick Santorum found the most homophobic county in PA to make his announcement yesterday. He appears to be running on a platform of “Its my turn because I came in second last time” mixed with a little OLde Tyme religion and a dash of economic populism that observers think may make him a dark horse until Republican primary voters figure out what “economic populism” means.

Anyway…

While Christie, Bush, Walker, and Perry continue to dither, Newton and Pandora both pick up a point. Congrats to Newton who becomes the first player to have all four of his horses officially on the track.

Here are the standing:

Division 1
Pandora: Walker, Paul (52), Rubio (47), and Santorum(1) | 100
Jason330: Huckabee (24), Christie, Cruz** (68),Carson (25) | 117
AQC: Jindal, Bush, Fiorina (25), Ehrlich | 25

Division 1A
Newton: Paul (52), Rubio (47),Carson (25), Santorum** (1) | 125
Prop Joe: Cruz (68), Jindahl, Walker, Perry | 68
Del Dem: Bush, Christie, Huckabee (24), Graham | 24

Here are the Candidates with points:
Cruz – 68 points (March 23rd), Paul – 52 points (April 7th), Rubio – 47 points (April 13), Carson – 25 points (May 4th), Fiorina – 25 points (May 4th), Huckbee – 24 point (May 5th), Santorum** – 1 point (May27th)

(**) Indicates candidates who think that we are in “the end times.”

Check my math, and let me know if I miss an announcement.

Pataki is in as of today.

  2. jason330 says:

These guys have scheduled events during which they are expected to make an announcement:

    – Lindsey Graham, announcement expected on June 1 (Del Dem)

    – George Pataki, announcement expected Today (fuck Pataki, nobody picked him)

    – Rick Perry, announcement expected June 4 (Prop Joe)

  3. jason330 says:

    You beat me to it.

  4. Jason330 says:

This year is crazy. Since all the campaigns are all funded as pet projects by eccentric billionaires, 10 of them might make it all the way to the convention.

As an American, the spectacle will make me sick. As a partisan Dem, I’ll be laughing my ass off.

  5. Mikem2784 says:

I’m pretty sure Huckabee thinks its the end times too….

But yeah, this is hilarious. And they’re all flawed candidates, too. How will the dems screw this one up?

How will the dems screw this one up?

There are democratic consultants currently ensconced in offices near DuPont Circle working away on that.

  7. cassandra_m says:

Pataki? I thought he was dead.

  8. jason330 says:

“Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Wednesday assured Texans that the state would receive federal relief following major flooding, even though the senator opposed federal funding following Hurricane Sandy.”

    Just sayin’

  9. Jason330 says:

Breaking: Christie is falling below the level required to be included in the Fox News debate. He is currently on his way to Iowa to yell at and/or punch a member of the media in order to try and rescue his campaign.

It is a long shot, but if it fails to raise his poll numbers, at least he will have punched a member of the media.

  10. Steve Newton says:

@jason How does Carson have 22 in my tally and 25 in yours?

  11. Jason330 says:

Thanks! Probably a typo. I’ll fix it in the AM

  12. Jason330 says:

Rand Paul appears to be running out of time to find a eccentric billionaire sugar daddy to bank roll his campaign.

    Poor Rand.

  13. Joanne Christian says:

Oh geez, is Pat Paulsen or Ralph Nader still alive? Maybe now is the time……

  14. RobberBaron says:

You people are so obsessed with the possible Republican nominee, that you aren’t commenting on the most recent economic news. 1st quarter GDP revised down to….wait for it….-0,7%. How is all that “hopey changey” working out?
