Have Republicans simply gone completely bananas?

Filed in National by on April 30, 2015

The evidence points to – yes.

Not from The Onion:

Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott on Tuesday asked the State Guard to monitor a U.S. military training exercise dubbed “Jade Helm 15″ amid suspicions that the war simulation is really a hostile military takeover.

My sense is that as the Democratic Party has become ever more conservative and indistinguishable from moderate Republicans over the years, there is a desperation among Republican partisans to distinguish themselves as LEGIT conservatives in ways that would have been viewed as coo-coo a mere 5 years ago.

Nope, they are simply nuts. There was a time when we would commit people like this, or, at least, lock them in the attic. 😉

Republicans are a complete mental mess. They scream about public school education while they sneer at “intellectuals”. Rand Paul blames “bad parenting” and absentee fathers for what’s going on in Baltimore, while his son was just arrested for a DUI – that’s his son’s 3rd alcohol related charge. So… Rand Paul is an awful father by his own standards?

Consistency certainly isn’t a highly prized virtue. The same “oath keepers” who are worried about this take over were volunteering to go to Ferguson MO to help the government shoot unruly black people.

Just so people don’t think Gov. Abbott has the market cornered on crazy down there in the heart of Texas:

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest responds:

“I have no idea what he’s thinking,”

“I think what is clear is that I feel confident in expressing to you without having a lot of detailed knowledge of the particular exercise is that the civil liberties and constitutional rights of Americans citizens will be in no way affected by this exercise,”

….which is exactly what someone trying to coverup this military operation to take over Texas would say.

“So… Rand Paul is an awful father by his own standards?”

    That’s not a question, that’s a statement of fact.

These right wingers can’t survive without come crazy trumped up fear/hatemongering threat to spread to the dupes who buy into such nonsense

Good News Everyone! Rand Paul is going to “look into” this.
