Just getting Bernie and O’Malley onto a debate stage with Hillary would be a victory.

  2. Delaware Dem says:

The National John Kowalko, in politics and appearance. (This is actually a compliment).

  3. Mikem2784 says:

A civilized debate would be beneficial and should help Clinton, the presumptive nominee, in the long run. Especially if the Republicans tear each other apart as I anticipate.

  4. Jason330 says:

    I agree with Mikem2784

  5. Dorian Gray says:

I wished he hadn’t hooked up his wagon to the Democratic Party, but I suppose that’s the only way to challenge HRC head-to-head (debates, &c.).

If he ran as a Democratic Socialist I’d consider quitting my job and joining the campaign.

As it is I’m still happy he’s thrown his hat in the ring.

  6. bamboozer says:

Another vote for Mikem2,000, that and I can’t wait for the Republican circular firing squad to really hit it’s stride.

Great that we may actually now have some decent debates. While I welcome Bernie to the Party so many of us have labored in for so many years to improve, on one level I resent that an independent up and decides to run in our primary without working in our vineyards…..at the top of the ticket no less. When he drops out, it is unlikely he will remain a Democrat. But, bring on the debates and push Hillary as is needed.

  8. Jason330 says:

It is a label. If you look at his policies, Sanders is 1000 times the Democrat Tom Carper is.

  9. RobberBaron says:

Bernie- I hope you run and hope you win the nomination. You will be the George McGovern of your generation.

  10. Steve Newton says:

@RobberBaron: You will be the George McGovern of your generation.

That would require a GOP nominee with as much political savvy as Richard Nixon. Not gonna happen.

  11. RobberBaron says:

No. It will only require a lunatic socialist as the Dem nominee.

  12. SussexAnon says:

I will take the independent socialist over a lunatic right winger.

I think the GOP field is amazing. There has not been a field this deep since 1988 at least, maybe 1980 and maybe going back to 1860. When analysts speak of a strong field, they are right. 1988 had a great field from both parties. Only the GOP has a strong field. Democrats have a strong but flawed candidate in Clinton.

Sanders would be an interesting choice. The Democrats have been running socialists for 3 elections, at least with Sanders they would be honest about it. The only candidate that I am concerned about is Webb. He could actually win strongly. If Clinton wins, I think we keep the Congress because she barely wins. I think any of the top 6 Republicans can take her down in a faceoff. I think Cruz would have the hardest time just from conversations that I hear on the street. Rubio, Huckabee, Paul, and Bush seemed to be palatable to people who are not Republicans but open minded. Walker is still an unknown in this part of the country. He seems to be a blank slate except for taking on the unions to most folks who don’t follow it closely but keep up.

“When analysts speak of a strong field, …” name one person whop has said that about the GOP field. One! Go ahead.

  16. liberalgeek says:

    He won’t be back…

But he whipped out HW Bush, Reagan AND Lincoln. My head hurts.

  17. Dorian Gray says:

For once I agree with David. The GOP field is absolutely amazing. When I consider each candidate I am filled with amazement. Like when I see one dog eat another dog’s shit.

  18. liberalgeek says:

I find the field incredible, as in “not at all credible”.

  19. Jason330 says:

I wonder if Jesus is having a sad over David’s use of the word “anal”ysts ?

  20. mouse says:

I once had two dogs and when one threw up, they would fight and growl about who gets to eat the puked up food

  21. mouse says:

How many well educated people who have had a critical thinking course are support the GOP candidates?
