Maybe O’Malley is running for Veep?

Filed in National by on April 21, 2015

If so, I like it.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley had – on NPR, of all places – referred to Marco Rubio’s economic worldview as “bullshit.”

The Veep is the salty truth-slinger right? That was a role Biden excelled in.

O’Malley’s people are presenting it as a spontaneous moment of real-keeping and are actually fundraising off of “bullshit,” which is itself a wry commentary on the subject matter of a typical fundraising email.

… what I like most about O’Malley dismissing Rubio’s economic outlook as “bullshit” is that he’s not wrong. NPR’s Steve Inskeep had asked O’Malley about Rubio’s views on how regulations on businesses impact upward mobility, which Rubio had laid out in an NPR interview a week earlier. In that interview, Rubio tried making a populist case for deregulation, arguing that regulations only serve to stack the deck in favor of banks and large corporations. “The fact is that big government helps the people who have made it,” Rubio said. “If you can afford to hire an army of lawyers, lobbyists and others to help you navigate and sometimes influence the law, you’ll benefit. And so that’s why you see big banks, big companies, keep winning. And everybody else is stuck and being left behind.”

Complete bullshit, needless to say.

He most definitely is. Only Hillary’s death or indictment will propel O’Malley to the nomination. The problem is I see Hillary going with former San Antonio Mayor and current Secretary of HUD Julian Castro as her running mate.

OMG, i would LOVE Julian Castro to be Veep…. and POTUS… if for no other reason than to see a-hole Floridians have to refer to “President Castro’

His nick name is Martin Owe’Malley in Maryland.

    cool story.

  5. mouse says:

O’Malley ran taxes up so high in Maryland that they elected a republican governor. Maryland does not elect republicans except in rare cases

I don’t think this was a calculated use of strong language at all. From my experience and having been in many meetings with former Governor O’Malley, “bullshit” and far worse language is the norm for him.
