I am opposed to the death penalty for all the usual reasons, but I have to admit this SOB is not the poster child for repeal and he will not be missed. If the death penalty is repealed the day after he is executed I won’t be sad.

  2. Delaware Dem says:

I am anti-death penalty, but the only times I can see a justification for it is for terrorists and serial killers.

  3. bamboozer says:

I’m anti death penalty, period. Remove the revenge factor from punishment, even for Tsarnaev. Lock ’em away for life and be done with it.

  4. Delaware Dem says:

And I can also see a major reason for not executing serial killers and terrorists: it is probably (definitely in the case of terrorists) what they want. So let them rot.

Since you all mentioned it, I agree with bamboozer. What separates us from disgusting little pigs like this is that we don’t resort to nasty base reactions. No state sponsored murder of inmates. Period.

State sponsored murder of innocents from flying robot death machines in Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, &c. probably needs to be reviewed as well. Since in some sense one begat the other and so it goes…

Obama’s doing a great job in the middle east with those flying death machines. He’s winning the war on terrorism with them.

I’ve always wondered how many christians would be able to pull the lever on a criminal and send him to his death. As a former catholic, I always asked myself if I’d be willing to personally send a person to his death. I couldn’t. As an athiest, I still can’t. We’ve evolved as a society, allegedly.
