Another reason to vote for Bernie August instead of John Carney

Filed in National by on October 14, 2014

John Carney’s greatest accomplishment in congress, the accomplishment that he puts on the top of the list of reasons why he should be re-elected is that he “sat down with Republicans.” Yes. The very Republicans who continue to scheme to undermine the economic recovery to further their own narrow political aims. The Republicans who have never even pretended to reciprocate John Carney’s ardor for compromise and bipartisanship. John Carney just thinks they simply need to be “sat down” with. It is absolutely ludicrous that he is claiming “sitting down with Republicans” as a great accomplishment, but there you have it.

So every Democrat has a choice in this election – reward that kind of obstinate ignorance with a meek party line vote, or vote in a way that affirms your Democratic values by saying “yes” to Bernie August.

This isn’t Gore/Bush. Carney cannot lose this election, so your yes vote for Bernie August will not be an risky protest vote, but a vote in favor of the kind of Democratic values John Carney and the Democratic Party have lost touch with.

Just check out this video and consider it.

The only way I’m voting for any democrats is if a Republican is the only other choice

Voting for Bernie, Carney’s either an incredible fool or living in a Washington induced dream world. As noted he can’t lose so the point is moot.

Carney comes from a time when you had to appease Reagan Democrats to win elections. He buys into the underlying meme that Democrats are too radically liberal and are obstructing Republican pro-growth policies, a laughable proposition. Get with it John; those Republicans are the people who dragged us down.

I agree with Puck that Carney, like many Republicans, sees the evidence and fits that evidence into a conclusion that fits his worldview.

It is a special kind of self-serving stupidity. Anyone with eyes can see that Republican economics have been tried and have utterly failed. Carney can’t see that because his world view will not allow it.

But Jason, it hasn’t failed. The Koch Brothers and their ilk (Top 1%er’s), have consolidated wealth through their Lobbying efforts, controlling and manipulating most of the news media, selling of political theories like “Trickle-down economics” and the buying and selling of Politicians, to the point that they have in a matter of 40 years, moved their percentage of ownership and control of our Nation’s wealth from a measly 8.3% to over 24% today. So how has it failed?
To say that their efforts appear to be “waning” is somewhat reasonable, but to say that it has failed I believe is just not accurate.

Good point. Republican “trickle-down” economics, having been adopted by Democrats, has been a huge success for the people that it set out to help.
