It is going to be very ironic if the GOP pulls off winning the six seats they need to gain the majority in the Senate (i.e. Montana, West Virginia, South Dakota, Louisiana, Arkansas and Alaska) only to lose three seats that put the Democrats back in control (i.e. Kansas, Georgia, and Kentucky). But right now, that is the state of play…

From Democracy Corps on the latest round of their polling done by Greenberg Quinlan:

The new polls show “a consistent move toward the Democrats across a broad range of indicators that suggest the Democrats are more likely to hold control of the U.S. Senate than not.”

“This election is still on a knife-edge; the overall vote remains unchanged and many states are within a couple of points. But the underlying dynamics and key metrics have all moved away from the Republicans. Some of these changes are dramatic, though the context remains a battleground that Romney won by 8 points. However, Democrats are poised to hold on.”

  1. Stoopid Legislator Tricks. A bill to, wait for it, block ‘publicity-seeking criminals’ from exercising their free speech rights:

    http://www.philly.com/philly/news/20141007_Mumia_spurs_bill_to_block_publicity-seeking_criminals.html

Of course, since the ‘publicity-seeking criminal’ the bill seeks to silence is Mumia Abu-Jamal, I’m sure the Delaware State Troopers’ Association and Chris Coons approve.

BTW, wouldn’t it be great to have the election expert who Coons helped deep-six around right now while Rethugs across the country are depriving voters of the right to vote in order to engineer R victories? Sure would. B-b-but Mumia Abu-Jamal!!
