I am getting spoiled with these new and frequent Delaware polls…

… where where you, University of Delaware, back in 2004 and 2006?

Here is the latest:

ATTORNEY GENERAL BEAU BIDEN (D)

Sixty percent [66%] of respondents to the poll, conducted Sept. 10-22 by phone, viewed [Beau Biden,] the second-term attorney general[,] favorably. Just 24 percent of the 902 Delaware adults surveyed held an unfavorable view.

VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN (D)

Joe Biden’s numbers are at least as good, and maybe better. Sixty-four [64%] percent of adults surveyed held a favorable view, while 30 percent said they viewed the vice president, and Delaware’s longtime U.S. senator, unfavorably.

GOV. JACK MARKELL (D)

Gov. Jack Markell’s popularity slipped slightly in the past year, but his numbers remain strong. In last month’s poll, 55 percent viewed the governor favorably, while 25 percent viewed Markell unfavorably. That’s down from a 62 percent favorability rating in a University of Delaware poll a year ago.

And here are more results from the University of Delaware Poll, including glorious cross tab information:

BulletMajorities in all three counties love Beau Biden.

BulletSenator Carper has a 63-16 favorability rating.

BulletSenator Coons, in a reelection fight, and lesser known, has only a 46-25 favorability rating. The good news is that is still positive by 21 points, but his name recognition is not as good as Carper’s, since 28% of the sample don’t know him or can’t rate him.

BulletCongressman Carney likewise has a 48-18 favorability rating, with 32% not having the foggiest idea who he is.

BulletThe most surprising number is this: Lt. Governor Matt Denn, a man who has run in four straight state wide races (2004, 2008, 2012 and 2014) in the last ten years, and held two offices (Insurance Commissioner and Lt. Governor), and who is running for a third office this very year (Attorney General) and who is considered a leading and preferred candidate for Governor in 2016; well he has only a 39-14 favorability rating, with 46% — FORTY SIX PERCENT — not knowing who he is. How is that even possible?

BulletHillary Clinton does slightly better than homeboy Joe Biden in some possible races in 2016. Hillary leads New Jersey Governor Chris Christie 54-33. Biden leads Christie 54-38. Familiarity breeds contempt for 5% of the voters who were undecided re Hillary-Christie.

BulletYou have already seen Vice President Biden’s favorability numbers above, here are some more national numbers:

President Obama: 54-43 Favorability
Hillary Clinton: 61-33 Favorability
Chris Christie: 44-35 Favorability, with 19% having no clue
Rand Paul: 26-34 Favorability, a negative number, with the good news being that 39% have no clue
Jeb Bush: 29-41 Favorability, showing that the Bush name, even attached to the smarter brother, is toxic.

Keep in mind that these numbers are of Delaware residents, not likely or even registered voters.
