Chip Flowers clown show running out of gas

Chip Flowers Delaware

If (as Chip Flowers claims) former employee Erika Benner is waging a war of resentment against her firing, he has to know that unleashing a tirade (in text) against the very person he blames for his downfall is, at best, a poor career choice.

At this point, I truly feel bad for Flowers, someone whose public buffoonery undermines his feverish political ambition. I don’t know if he’s actually done anything wrong other than jump into a political pool that’s way over his head.

This just gets stranger and stranger by the minute. What I took away from Rob’s story, Erika and Chip must have been still hanging out, since she got a hold of his iPad. He thinks she stole it to get information and “compromising pics” of fiance’. Then Erika is writing the fiance’ for having the iPad. This whole thing needs to be made into a Lifetime movie!

Although Chip has demonstrated poor judgment in decision making several times, I find this clown meme extremely disrespectful and distasteful. I thought it the first time I saw it earlier in the year.

As to the substance of the article, the author provides additional information not captured in the NJ article. Make no mistake – the former deputy seems on the crazy side, but it also seems that these two had something going on (whether official or not) into 2014. No matter how crazy and unhinged Chip may make her sound {or she makes herself look) the inescapable truth is he dealt with her and only he can be blamed for that. If he never got involved with her we wouldn’t be discussing this mess. That zipper and ego will get you in trouble every time Mr. Flowers!

The cartoonist is just repeating what he hears on this blog, like when some loudmouth in the school cafeteria start calling some kid a “retard,” then before you know it other kids are emboldened to call him a retard too. Monkey see, monkey do. Putting Flowers in a clown suit is just part of the clown show.

So the fact an elected official decided to send a text message threatening the son of a women he claims is crazy and sabotaging his career means nothing?

Read that sentence back a couple of times, then re-read my column and tell me Chip Flowers is the man you want managing Delaware’s finances.

  5. Anny says:

Rob, did Chip say when the iPad was stolen? It is strange both were hanging out recently to have the iPad stolen, if it was taken in the last year. Also, did she directly email the fiancé? This story is so weird.

  6. John Manifold says:

Jeff Mordock is reporting that Flowers will resign, perhaps “as early as Friday afternoon, according to the political sources.”

  7. Rob Tornoe says:

Anny: Benner emailed Flowers on December 11, 2013 apologizing for the iPad (her son had it for over a year). She emailed him to forward it to his fiance apologizing after seeing the “compromising pictures.” Flowers is the one who speculates she stole it.

  8. Anny says:

Rob, that is an interesting timeline of events.

  9. cassandra_m says:

Rob, are these emails and texts public someplace?

  10. Unstable Isotope says:

Neither Benner or Flowers have much credibility in my eyes right now. All their actions are so juvenile.

Well, at least this takes some of the focus off Sheriff Christopher for awhile…
