The two belfries indicate Christian so I’m thinking the Islands or South American. Not Mediterranean enough to be Greece or Italy, in my opinion. But those blue roofs almost force me to guess Greece. OK, I thought myself into it. And after a few quick google searches… I’ll say Santorini, Greek Islands… final answer.

  2. Delaware Dem says:

Damn it! I thought I had you stumped. Yes, Greece. Yes, Santorini. The town of Fira, which was built on the cliffs of the caldera of a Super Volcano. You can see the crater here:

We took a boat out to the new island being formed by the new volcano vent in the middle.

Nice. I have a knack for these geography puzzles. I even had the island correct on this one… I’m actually pretty proud of myself… That one was tougher. Really the only clues were the water, the christian church tower and the blue doomed roof. I just had to double check myself with a few images searches and bingo…

They are getting a little harder now.

I saw Greek Island right off the bat. I’m retired but I’ve got to start getting up earlier in the AM if I’m going to have a chance of beating DG to the answer. Are you aware there is a geography challenge game on line where you get points based on how far away you are from the actual location? Sorry, can’t remember the URL, I’ll look for it again and let you know.

Google image search is pretty effective these days.
