So how many episodes of S2 House of Cards have you watched? I’ve seen 2 of them so far and the treachery is fierce with this one.

Even though Volkswagon had no issues with the formation of a union at their plant in Tennessee, the GOP lied and howled and threatened enough to help narrowly defeat a vote for a union yesterday. The take away, of course, is that every time you hear someone in the GOP talk about the middle class or a better deal for workers, you know that is a lie. Because the only people the GOP were defending here were themselves and their anti-union special interests. Of course, you won’t hear one word from the usual “Government should stay out of the way of business” crowd denouncing the GOP’s clear interference with Volkswagon here.

Stealing as Libertarian branding — Rand Paul caught stealing a lawsuit. He took the work done by Reagan-era lawyer Bruce Fein for a class action suit against the NSA, erased Fein’s name, and added Ken Cuccinelli. This ups the plagarism ante, right? This lawsuit is being brought by Paul’s campaign, NOT Paul’s Senatorial office. So this entire business is meant to be a stunt.

But when Paul filed his suit at the U.S. District Court in Washington on Wednesday morning, Fein’s name had been replaced with that of Ken Cuccinelli, the failed Republican gubernatorial candidate in Virginia who until last month had been the state’s attorney general. Cuccinelli has never argued a case in that courthouse, and he isn’t even a member of the D.C. bar (he also filed a motion Wednesday seeking an exception to allow him to argue this case in D.C.). But he is, like Paul, a tea party darling.

Presented without comment on the hypocricy:

Thank goodness the workers at VW voted the dirtbag UAW out of town.

  2. Liberal Elite says:

    How’s your salary doing TK??

If you aren’t already a lazy taker, then you should know that your salary is correlated with theirs.

Are you rooting for lower wages?

  3. bamboozer says:

As noted VW had no problem with a union, almost all auto production in Europe and Japan is union and has been for a long time. Unions have frequently been the guardians of democracy and in Poland the union, Solidarnosc, was instrumental in toppling the communist regime and installing democracy inn that nation. Of course if your conservative hater that doesn’t matter. Rand Paul? He’s nothing but a stunt himself, faux Libertarian when he wants to be and full time attention hound like Ted The Disrupter Cruz.

MSNBC: Rand Paul didn’t plagiarize his NSA lawsuit

Not that the truth matters to the likes of you.

If he didn’t plagiarize his lawsuit, then that might be the first thing he *hasn’t* plagiarized in a while.

How about the truth of what forty years of a Democrat mayor, a Democrat city council and the UAW did for Detroit?

(Hint; from the wealthiest major city in the US to bankrupt.)

  7. Tom McKenney says:

Where is the blame for management? GM ignored a changing market for decades and blew an incredible market share. It’s management’s fault that the company failed and destroyed the tax base of Detroit,Flint, and others.

Roger Smith, defending his poor performance for a huge salary, said someone else would have lost more.

  8. Andy says:

Its a shame that the politicians are protected from having charges brought against them for violating labor law. Had the UAW used similar tactics and the vote had their way, the vote would have been overturned

  9. Norinda says:

Sadly, the push for a Union at the Tennessee plant is the US is coming from abroad-Germany. But, Tennessee is a Right to Work State. Let’s see if te GOP makes true on their promise to create jobs that pay a living wage w/ benefits.
