This is a xTed Talk (approx. 8.5 mins long) featuring an 11-year old who has figured out how conglomerate-produced food isn’t exactly the healthiest choice. Since we’re close to the point where locally grown food will be getting plentiful, this guy has good advice:

    Yes , traditional farming is more labor intensive, but if you give consumers an actual choice, and label food products, I believe consumers will choose non GMO products over GMO products, even if they have to pay a little more at first.

    Capitalism can create problems and capitalism can solve problems. Give the consumer full disclosure and let the chips fall where they may.

    We should demand answers from our representatives concerning their voting records on this subject.

    Especially since the vote in question was *only* to make it clear that states could decide for themselves the labeling issue. This wasn’t even a mandated labeling program.
