If pigs had guns, we wouldn’t have bacon.

  2. V says:

can someone explain this logic thread to me that i keep seeing on fb from conservatives that liberals are totally ok with this Gosnell horror show business? or that at a minimum we’re totally ignoring it because it undermines our “agenda”?

I’m allowed to want control of my body and also not be cool with chunks of babies in old milk jugs (and you know the exploitation and injury of vulnerable poor women in need).

  3. cassandra_m says:

They are having the vapors because they claim that the liberal media is not covering this story. Except that the NJ and the Philly papers are certainly covering it and so is the local NPR station. Maybe these venues aren’t liberal enough.

If a frog had wings it wouldn’t bump its ass.

  5. Dana Garrett says:

Every fetus should be armed in utero. If women can be compelled to undergo transvaginal probing, surely arming their fetuses can’t be objectionable.

  6. pandora says:

Conservatives don’t see any difference between legal abortions and Gosnell. To them they are identical situations. If you start with that premise it all makes sense in a crazy, effed up, illogical way.

  7. xstryker says:

They created Gosnell. What do you think happens when you try to push practitioners out of a field? You give more business to the unscrupulous ones.

  8. pandora says:

Exactly, X. Pro-lifers created the environment that allows Gosnell to function. Pro-lifers succeed in limiting access to abortion, but what they can’t stop, and can never stop, is women seeking abortions – a fact they always ignore.

Jezebel actually JUST addressed this. They also contend the reason the story isn’t getting coverage isn’t because of a liberal conspiracy, but the media’s lack of interest in covering crimes when the victims are poor women of color. Minority low income women’s lack of access to health care isn’t a sell to them.

  10. Another Mike says:

I found a link at a pro-life website decrying the lack of media coverage. The author cited another article, writing that a “shocking photo of empty benches at the trial of abortion practitioner Kermit Gosnell is making the rounds today and it exemplifies the lack of media coverage and attention to the case.”

The only problem is that Pennsylvania, with rare exceptions, does not allow cameras in the courtroom, so the photo could not have been from the Gosnell trial. It is a stock photo. From the Reporters Committee for the Freedom of the Press: “State court rules prohibit photographing any criminal court session, but judges in civil proceedings without juries may permit cameras.”

The article in question can be found at http://www.lifenews.com/2013/04/12/shocking-photo-shows-empty-media-benches-at-kermit-gosnell-trial.

On the contrary, media coverage has been quite heavy in this area and is picking up nationwide. But hey, as we say in the news business, why let facts get in the way of a good story?

They’re not ignoring that fact, pandora, they deny that fact:

  12. Truth Teller says:

We just had a prime example this past week of what happens when babies are armed two four year old’s obtained guns one shot and killed the sheriff’s wife the other other shot and killed his six year old playmate.

  13. Geezer says:

“If women can be compelled to undergo transvaginal probing, surely arming their fetuses can’t be objectionable.”

Indeed, an armed fetus might be the only way to put a stop to it.

Cassandra – your link is broken.
