Republican Congressman Louie Gohmert of Texas opposes gun control because gay marriage leads to bestiality.

In fact, I had this discussion with some wonderful, caring Democrats earlier this week on the issue of, well, they said “surely you could agree to limit the number of rounds in a magazine, couldn’t you? How would that be problematic?” […] And I pointed out, well, once you make it ten, then why would you draw the line at ten? What’s wrong with nine? Or eleven?

And the problem is once you draw that limit ; it’s kind of like marriage when you say it’s not a man and a woman any more, then why not have three men and one woman, or four women and one man, or why not somebody has a love for an animal? There is no clear place to draw the line once you eliminate the traditional marriage and it’s the same once you start putting limits on what guns can be used, then it’s just really easy to have laws that make them all illegal.

You know, I get that conservatives, by their very nature and by definition, are supposed to fight change. That’s their role. And I understand that opposing these very popular, very sane and very reasonable changes in our society can be very difficult, especially when you have no logical or understandable reason for it, which is why these insane conservatives often sound insane and delusional. It is because they have no logical or rational reason to oppose these changes. But they must oppose them, because they are conservatives, and so they have to come up with a reason. The problem for today’s conservatives is that they let the very dim bulbs of their movement speak too often. Gohmert. Steven King. Sarah Palin. Michele Bachmann. They speak way too often. Probably because the smart and intelligent conservatives are way too embarrassed to be speaking out against change anymore.

If we’re to truly follow Mr. Gohmerts logic (you know, they way we are supposed to take the bible literally), then shouldn’t we be moving to make ALL marriage be illegal? If limiting the types of guns one can own or the rounds of ammunition available will surely lead to all guns being illegal, then shouldn’t limiting marriage to one man and one woman ultimately lead to no marriages at all?

I always felt North Carolina was only sort of a southern state. It’s home to lots of northern transplants and has some world-class universities (even if Mike Kzyzyzyzlkedlkjeffedfsski lives there). I was smacked back into reality by this bill, which asserts that the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States does not apply to individual states.

Ken Cuccinelli in Virginia is trying to get the court to reinstate sodomy laws. Is he still running for governor? Who votes for a man opposed to oral sex, I ask you?

Syrian Girl: Fatwa Permitting Rape of Syrian Women

But if you don’t see information trickling down on what remains of the “mainstream” or main streams of media and onto your Boob Tube then it’s all just one big “conspiracy theory” on the internet, I guess. So the internet probably all needs to be top secret, for the sake of national $ecurity (inc.).

Everyone is probably going to have to blame Youtube videos for all this terrism eventually… and follow the leadership of Hillary Inc. in such matters. (Well, if they’re not too busy with checking their underpants for WMDs… etc.) Funny how the anthrax threat cleared up in America, isn’t it? But now WMDs are apparently the “red line” in Syria because America’s mercenaries need to bring human rights and democracy to Syria (or somethin’.) just like they did in Libya when Gaddafi began to give up his WMD programs.

Anyway, it’s too bad that fatwas about rape and cutting people’s heads off and so on and so forth apparently aren’t a “red line.”

Well, now that Connecticut has passed new strict gun control laws, we won’t have to worry about gun violence in that state anymore, whew, what a relief. Just like Chicago. Oh thats right, in Chicago, after they passed strict gun control laws, there have been more people killed there than in the Afghan War.

The problem is not guns, it is people, and the lack of prosecution by weak liberal lenient judges. These weak liberal lenient judges are mostly responsible for these violent deaths.

Just look today in Colorado in the James Holmes Case. A good judge made the arrest records of James Holmes be unsealed.

Turns out a month before the mass shooting at the theater, A psychiatrist (Dr. Lynne Fenton) who treated James Holmes told campus police that Holmes had homicidal thoughts and was a danger to the public according to those documents Unsealed today. (I am sure the gun control advocates had them sealed, they would rather push their gun control agenda, then get to the real truth, and help solve this violence problem. The psychiatrist also said the suspect threatened and intimidated her.

In the days after the attack, campus police said they had never had contact with Holmes, who was a graduate student at the university.

But campus police Officer Lynn Whitten told investigators after the shooting that Fenton had contacted her. Whitten said Fenton was following her legal requirement to report threats to authorities, according to a search warrant affidavit. (Lynn Whitten should be tried as an accessory to murder, she never contacted James Holmes after she got this information about how dangerous he was. And she is drawing a salary from the University for supposedly doing a job, that she is obviously not doing).

“Dr. Fenton advised that through her contact with James Holmes she was reporting, per her requirement, his danger to the public due to homicidal statements he had made,” the affidavit said.

Whitten added that Fenton said she began to receive threatening text messages from Holmes after he stopped seeing her for counseling, the documents said.

Whitten did not immediately respond to messages left at her home and office. University spokeswoman Jacque Montgomery said she could not comment because the school had not reviewed the court records.

The documents previously were sealed, but the new judge overseeing the case ordered them released Thursday after requests from media organizations including The Associated Press.

The problem is clearly guns. Go to the colored section that has the map,of the US and the states with the Weakest guns laws VS the strongest gun laws….interesting read,

Try that article….. Recently released too….

  9. geezer says:

Rusty: The only people that can request that records be sealed are people involved in the case. “Gun-control advocates” had nothing to do with it.

It’s paranoia of the sort you just displayed that makes this an unsafe country. It’s not just guns, it’s people — frightened little rabbits who don’t feel safe without their guns.

  10. Rusty Dils says:

Then Geezer, give me your reason why you think the records were sealed, (and would have stayed sealed had it not been for a new judge)

  11. geezer says:

From the first story I googled:

“Prosecutors and Holmes’ own defense attorneys had asked that the documents remain sealed, ”

    Some conspiracy, huh?
