Support the troops, and be ready to kill them

It is a little ironic that the same people who are so jazzed by indulging in empty flag waving jingoism, are the very same ones who claim to be cold blooded badasses ready, at a moment’s notice, to ruthlessly mow down our sons and daughters in uniform.

There  is a lot of contradictory and nonsensical jibberish streaming from gun nuts these days, but “support the troops, and be ready to kill them” takes the cake.

To what are you referring, when you say be ready to kill the troops?

    They’ve apparently all gone nuts.

  3. Mongo, what Jason means (hope I get this correct) is that many of the people who say “support the troops” are the same ones stockpiling guns to “be ready to kill them” when the troops come to take their guns and freedom.

Or to put it another way, It is a little ironic that the same people who are so jazzed by indulging in empty flag waving jingoism, are the very same ones who claim to be cold blooded badasses ready, at a moment’s notice, to ruthlessly mow down our sons and daughters in uniform.

My disgust for the chicken hawks knows no end. While they are quick to send someone else to wars they
are afraid to fight, they are the first to want to cut the VA budget. True flag desecration is not burning the flag but, wrapping oneself in the flag of false patriotism. If you look at congress the ones who have been in combat whether Democrat or Republican, are the ones least likely to send someone off to war.

Amen. Truer words have never been spoken.

  7. Unless you are John McCain. But I think that point about what counts as flag desecration is a great one, though.
