Mike Huckabee’s puny God

Filed in National by on December 17, 2012

Mike Huckabee’s God is not a majestic king of the universe. Huckabee’s savior is a sulky, dickwad who lets children get murdered because a school doesn’t allow Christian prayer.

Following the shooting on Friday, Huckabee asked why we should “be so surprised” at the violence when “we have systematically removed God from our schools.”

That’s a puny-ass excuse for a deity. If you are going to worship something Huckabee, try a deity that has a little more grit than the one you’ve got now. Try a God that wants the best for humanity even when humanity isn’t kissing its ass in homeroom every morning.

Huckabee’s an ass. On the plus side, this ends his Presidential run.

  2. puck says:

How can we keep God out of our schools when we can’t even keep out a guy with a gun?

  3. Aoine says:

Taking God out of the classroom isnt the issue………….

    Its the gun getting in……..

typical Christian Conservative – has it ass backwards……..like always

someone, pray for him – coz the rest of us are too busy trying to prevent more violence.

  4. bamboozer says:

Huck’s always playing the God Game, insisting mo’ god mo’ betta, he quickly walked back the insanity. I never bought Huck’s warm and fuzzy uncle game, underneath it all he’s every bit as looney as the rest of the far right.

  5. anthony says:

Just thought you should know. . Jesus died for you and loves you very much.

  6. Aoine says:

Thank you Anthony- we are aware of that
However – Jesus tells a parable about an ass that falls into a ravine in the Sabbeth- should his owner work on the Sabbeth to save his pack animal

The Lord helps those that help themselves

I think the answer is pretty clear.

  7. socialistic ben says:

anthony, nothing could be further from Jesus than today’s republican party. Especially Mike Huckabee

  8. Jason330 says:

My favorite Republican Jesus saying is “I say unto you, survival of the fittest, bitches!” That just edges out “Whomsoever dies with the most plentiful toy bounty, wineth.”

Both from the sermon near the mound.

  9. steve says:

Stay strong Anthony, most will continue to run scared into the deception of themselves. Praise God…

  10. geezer says:

“most will continue to run scared into the deception of themselves.”

    And with your spirit.

  11. Steve Newton says:

A note apropos of this post to Dana Garrett: about six years ago I actually defended Mike Huckabee’s use of a figure of theological speech to you when he said something about “God guided my hand” on a particularly difficult hunting shot.

If I never did before, I should apologize for that now.

  12. Jason330 says:

Steve, I remember that you liked Huckabee. As a Governor he seemed sane..oromoted music education… appeared reality based. Obviously the scales have since fallen from his eyes.

  13. X Stryker says:

Jason, this is like the greatest post ever. I want to pray to an adult God. Not this childish dickwad who desperately needs attention all the time. God, as you see him, reflects who you truly are.

  14. Steve Newton says:

jason I didn’t like Huckabee. I defended his choice of words. There is a difference, although I agree that he certainly was not the same guy after his governorship that he was during it.

  15. Sue says:

To Jason 330: where was your god, your deity, because it wasn’t there either

  16. Jason330 says:

Sue, If I believed in God, this is the kind of thing that would fill me with doubt. Thanks for commenting!

  17. @X Stryker-

I want to pray to an adult God. Not this childish dickwad who desperately needs attention all the time.

Have you actually read the Bible? The God of the Old Testament is a petulant child. One need not even finish the book of Genesis in order to witness this childish behavior. Oh, you revealed the nakedness of your father? Allow me to curse your children and grandchildren, because, you know, sin travels in generations.

  18. Liberal Elite says:

@J “…this is the kind of thing that would fill me with doubt.”

Exactly right. Learning about God is how atheists are created. Don’t forget that it was atheists who aced the quiz on religion… did better than any other group. The more one knows, the harder it is to believe (with a straight face).

  19. Kay Greene says:

Comment for anthony, Dec. 18 post:
You are using the declaration that Jesus loves and died for the DelawareLiberal’s blogger to deride him and apply psychological pressure and an implicit threat to him.
And you know, Jesus would NOT have approved of anyone using his life or teachings in this way.
    Wise up!
