I’ll bet you can guess some of the most overpaid actors…

Filed in National by on December 5, 2012

…that is to say, the ones who brought in the least money relative to what they were paid to be in a movie.

Nichalas Cage? Yep. Adam Sandler? Of course.

Here’s the full top ten according to Forbes:

1. Eddie Murphy – $2.30 (returned on each dollar paid)
2. Katherine Heigl – $3.40
3. Reese Witherspoon – $3.90
4. Sandra Bullock – $5
5. Jack Black – $5.20
6. Nicolas Cage – $6
7. Adam Sandler – $6.30
7. Denzel Washington – $6.30
9. Ben Stiller – $6.50
10. Sarah Jessica Parker – $7

After three years of owning this list, no Will Ferrell this year…BECAUSE WILL FERRELL IS AWESOME!!!

Will Ferrell is forgiven for everything because Anchorman.

Also, I highly recommend having drinks and hate-watching Nicholas Cage movies. Wicker Man. Do it.

I loved Matchstick Men (Nicolas Cage). I’m surprised about Denzel Washington. The Shrek trio, or however many there are, wouldn’t be the same without Eddie Murphy. “that’s a nice boulder”. The rest don’t surprise me. But my kids all love Jack Black, he’s very kid friendly 🙂

  3. Joe Cass says:

I think Denzel and Ferris Bueller’s wife earn their command. “King Kong ain’t got nothing on me!”

  4. Chest Rockwell says:

Are we talking box office money or total revenue generated?

What this list tells me is that the legendary John C. Reilly is grossly underpaid.

  5. Bill Dunn says:

Who’s at the other end of the spectrum???
Who shows the greatest return on investment???
    Tom Hanks??? Meryl Streep???

Based on the way it is calculated, it is probably someone beginning their career who got into a block buster. Jennifer Lawrence or Josh Hutcherson from ‘The Hunger Games’ probably.
