QOTD 2 — Lunch with Obama and Romney, What Do You Think They Will Talk About?

Filed in National by on November 29, 2012

Today, President Obama and failed Presidential candidate Mitt Romney are having a private lunch. During his acceptance speech on Election Night, President Obama noted that he would meet with Mitt to see if there is a way forward together. One of the things I like the best about Barack Obama is how easily graceful he is when he really doesn’t have to be. I could learn alot from this. In any event, there will be no press (not sure about statements after), but what do you think they’ll talk about? There is speculation in some quarters that President Obama may offer him some cabinet position — yikes and bad idea, if true. What do you *hope* they’ll talk about?

I’d like Romney to endorse Obamacare. After all, he practically invented it. He’s got nothing left to lose, and it would erase a little bit of his 47% “gifts to minorities” douchery.

Also, I’d like him to give a statement assuring CEOs that Obama has the best interests of the economy at heart and it’s safe to hire and invest (of course, that statement would have more impact after a tax deal is reached).

I’m hoping that President Obama’s Anger Translator, Luther, shows up for lunch. Luther needs to make sure that Rmoney takes back the message to his party that this needs to be the last cycle that this Southern Strategy shit is key to GOP strategy. Or Obama’s Negro Army will have something for his ass.

Since Romney surrogates are out and about talking about how they ran a better campaign, and got the better voters – I’m sure Romney will use this lunch as a chance to gloat.

And i’d like to see Obama embrace Romney’s Flat deduction limit–no matter where you choose to use it. If you have no children, but contribute heavily to charities why can’t their be a “switch-out” for day care expenses vs. charitable expenses? And lots of other things along those lines…..just let it be a cafeteria plan of your deductions to a certain qualifying amount–not criteria. A bad year of health expenses–but you don’t meet the complicated formula of deduction? Put it there. Or folks who buy their health insurance w/ post tax dollars. That’s what I’m hoping he’ll embrace.

I think Obama could offer Romney an ambassadorship. Somewhere like Monte Carlos so that Romney could maintain the lifestyle to which he is accustomed.
