Some Hate from Downstate. Where Else?

Filed in Delaware, National by on October 18, 2012

Most of this letter from the hateful bigots on the Delaware Family Policy Council is your standard boilerplate anti-equal rights fare. But one of the last paragraphs is pure idiocy. As Matt Pazoles says on Facebook, “the only thing worse [than bigotry] is poorly written bigotry.”

“You see, for the homosexual agenda to advance, religious freedom must take a back seat. Gender has to be neutralized for same-sex ‘marriage’ to acceptable [sic]. Imagine how this impacts public education!”

Actually, religious freedom is not what you seek, unless of course you are talking about your religious freedom to impose your religion on the entire state and country. Yes, what you seek is an agenda far more radical than anything these “homosexuals” propose. For all they want is equality, a pretty American and patriotic and Constitutional thing. What you want, Nicole, is to codify your hatred, your discrimination of people that are not like you. You want to repeal the First Amendment banning the establishment of religion, so that your religion reigns supreme. You hide behind your religion as an excuse to openly berate people for the crime of being what they were born to be. What these oh so radical activists are doing is spreading constitutional equality. What they are spreading is the legal recognition of families. What they are spreading is love. Any peace and people loving religion, founded on the values, virtues and teachings of Jesus Christ, would and should endorse what these human beings are doing. Only hateful bigots don’t. People like you, Nicole, have hijacked this country and Christianity for far too long. You are the ones who have been driving the car for centuries, taking aim at people who are different than you and running them down. But tide of history and arch of social justice is slowly replacing you at the wheel. Yes, hateful bigots like you and your ilk will not only be placed in the back seat, but if you are not careful with your hate, you might end up in the trunk or on the roof.

You have all the religious freedom you want and are constitutionally entitled to. You can still hate the gays forever in your churches and in your homes. You may find yourselves quite lonely while society and our culture isolates and ostracizes your bigotry. But no one is taking away your right to hate. We are simply making it illegal for you to deny the rights you already have to others. We are making it illegal for you to use our government, our state, to discriminate.

As for the second and third sentences, I am not even sure that is English, it makes no sense. Gender has to be neutralized? How? What? And public education? What, does this Nicole bigot think that all children will be forcibly gay-married while in school? Please.

  1. Steve Newton says:

I think I can explain the gender neutralization for you. When I was collecting signatures for marriage equality at the State Fair, Chuck Mead-e demanded that he first get to use his gender neutralizing ray on me. It is about the size of one of the old Van deGraf generators from the Frankenstein movies but I had to put the leads in my pants . . .

It tickled, and I was suddenly struck by the fact that upon seeing my reflection in a nearby farmer’s sunglasses that I would look so much better with a different base and a tiny bit of rouge to accentuate my cheeks.

Fortunately, when I approached an evangelical Christian with the request that she sign a petition to allow Satan-curst queers to marry, she shouted, “Get away from here, Satan!” And I was cured.

I don’t know why they outlawed that therapy in California.

  2. Aoine says:

    1. They probably got their education at Eagles Nest? This is what happens when u dont hire certified teachers- but hire by biblical qualifications

    2. Have slave auctions- where the children are sold to other children as a ” lesson” on behavior

    http://www.betterparentinginstitute.com/Better-Parenting/parenting-child-raising-skills/kids-‘sold’-as-slaves/

    3. Dont open ur books and will not account for where the money goes

And wonder of wonders. Look where the pass the torch is being held

Glad i dont have school age children- i would worry about my child going there- if they were a minority or HEAVEN FORBID – showed a certain proclivity

Didnt know that HATRED was a particularly Godly virtue?…..or part of a christlike character

Eagles Nest Christian Academy in Milton, DE is an interdenominational Christian school offering classes for Pre-K through eighth grades. Our academic standards are among the highest in the state of Delaware. While academics are an important part of a child’s life we also believe that shaping character is equally important. Christian principles are woven into all facets of a student’s life at ENCA. Whether in the classroom, the playground or the cafeteria we stress the importance, and encourage the development of Christlike character in all of our students. While we believe the home is the most important learning and growing environment for a child we strive to compliment that training through a Godly, competent faculty and administration.

Interesting- bad punctuation and grammar…… Not a good lesson here either

  3. Charles says:

“Some Hate from Downstate, Where Else”? It’s not like we have a monopoly on it down here in slower lower.

  4. Aoine says:

    Just a question-

The homophobic agenda is bad- what two consenting adults choose to do – is somehow considered to be bad

But religious organizations- be itlong established churches or rural non- demoninational evangelical ” churches” – that harbor PEDOPHILES that rape and molest and permanently scar children that CANNOT conset to anything are ok?

Where was the outrage from the family council on Dr Bradley or the catholic church crises or the new kerfuffle we cannot discuss?

    All i heard was CRICKETS……nicole?… Anyone?….

  5. Delaware Dem says:

    God Bless Steve Newton. 😉

  6. iBaptist beliefs says:

I don’t want baptist beliefs anywhere as official policy. Why are you silent about the only minster in the races? Do you want a pastor making policy?

  7. liberalgeek says:

If you are referring to Chris Bullock, I think that’s funny. The alternative is a Christianist that would support policies that are much worse than Bullock could ever conceive.

Perhaps it’s time to gather up the loony Protack quotes throughout the years…

  8. stonesgal says:

Wow. I’m flabbergasted. This email is from a church group? Three Christian churches are referenced… um, am I wrong in thinking that Christians are supposed to act christianly? (Is that a word?) In any case, I thought Christians were supposed to be tolerant of all, as Christ promoted. How sad that people like this are hiding in the cloaks of Christianity. No tolerance and understanding… how sad… Delaware Dem summed it up beautifully.

  9. jason330 says:

Trying to discern the teachings of Christ through actions of self-proclaimed Christian politicians is a fools errand.

  10. X Stryker says:

So, if we pass gay marriage, I guess everyone becomes gay? Or all marriages become invalid? Or God destroys Delaware? What are they suggesting the impact is? I guess I’m just supposed to “imagine” it? OK, I’m imagining that Elton John will come teach our children to perform Rocket Man as a group. I’m pretty okay with that.

  11. Halloween says:

Dear Lord, Save me from your followers!!
It Occurs to me that Jesus is a lot like Elvis (in one way anyhow)–He’s a great guy, but his fan clubs scare the S&*T out of me.

  12. Anoie, If you don’t know where the outrage is than you are under a rock. It was all over the papers, on TV, and on the blogs. No one supported Dr. Bradley. No new issue with a candidate, he was forced to withdraw by his base because he did not forcefully deny the allegation. We have to assume innocence, but you can obviously see the seriousness that we view these things. The controversy only exists where not everyone agrees.

http://www.delawarepolitics.net/earl-bradley-an-update-on-his-trial-information/ This includes several links to reaction.

  13. FYI – Daniel Anderson is one of the big spenders for the Delaware Family Policy Council’s Responsible Delaware PAC.

  14. Aoine says:

It wasnt referring to your pitiful blog david- i was referring to the family policy council asking three churches to rally in support of the children abused by bradley…..

Maybe fundraising for those families….maybe doing something like that

Can u show me where Eagles Nest or Crossroads had those rallies / fundraisers for the children

Can u show me where the Family Council sent out an email asking for a rally and providing t-shirts to REALLY combat the TRUE EVIL that lurks in our communities our schoold and our churches?

THAT is what i am asking for you to show- not some link to a political blog where people post under anonymous names….

Dont deflect David. Dont compare apples and oranges….show me the proof and I will take back what i said

Show me something substantive – not your usual bullshit

This is your chance and the chance for the Family Council tonprove once and for all that you nuts actually support the LIVING BREATHING CHILDREN we already have in our society

Because if you dont support them in times of need- whybthe hell do you fight abortion and contraception? That will only produce more children to be abused neglected and molested

Time to put up or shut up David……

  15. Valentine says:

Shouldn’t those churches have their tax exempt status pulled for getting involved explicitly in a partisan campaign?

  16. The letter does not indicate sponsorship of this effort by the churches, other than the churches not minding (or not being asked) that their parking lot is used as a gathering place.

  17. Valentine says:

True, but I bet they did more than that.

  18. I’ll let this quote speak for itself:

“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” – Mohandas Gandhi

Those who would wrap themselves in the Cloak of Self-Righteousness, have great need for clutching it tightly.

    Yours, In Liberty,
