An Axis of Deceit: The Gordon/KWS/Williams/Bullock Cabal

Filed in Delaware by on September 11, 2012

So the Tom Gordon/Karen Weldin Stewart/Dennis P. Williams/Christopher Bullock cabal has yet again decieved the Democratic Primary voter by handing out this flyer today, saying the Party has endorsed them all. I guess they are Post-Truth Democrats, aren’t they? Meanwhile the truth is the Democratic Party has endorsed Paul Clark (not that I am happy about that, mind you), Mitch Crane, and Renee Taschner, and offered no endorsement in the Wilmington Mayor’s race.

So perhaps you want to ask one of the four (who will hopefully all lose tonight) why they feel so comfortable with lying.

Way to keep it classy Harris!

  2. george says:

Disgusting but not surprising. They should all be disqualified if they win. We already know why they’re so comfortable with lying – no need to ask.

  3. Lan says:

I’m really not shocked that Tom Gordon is attempting to deceive the voters….after all, he has been deceiving them since he entered this race for County Executive regarding the disposition of his 11 count indictment.

  4. george says:

That stunt assumes voters are stupid and don’t know about each candidate. Pretty insulting.

  5. I guess they are running on the premise that it doesn’t SAY endorsed by the DEM Party. It is like what Clark did in the last few days in mailers and on television claiming ‘statements’ he got from Coons and Markell which make it look as if they endorsed Clark. They didn’t.

I heard Coons and Markell were sent an email from Clark with the quotes with a statement of his own: I am using these, FYI and they are not happy about it.

This door lit is also a false implication. But it obviously is not sourced in DelDEM’s half-string of pols. It looks like labor’s work to me. Sam Lathem in particular. These are all candidates he is endorsing.

  6. Alex says:

WHO IS THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IN DELAWARE?

I just hope Mitch Crane wins. Other than that, who cares, the Dems are splintered anyway. This primary goes way beyond Delaware since its the home of the banking sector basically.

I hate to say it but, again, in 2008 after the O’Donnell thing everybody wants to take a shot to get in to prevent that from happening again. Quite frankly, I’d like to see one of the governors race GOP candidates drop from that ticket and give Markell a run for his money behind Valenzuela. I doubt the GOP candidate would win but who knows?

I’m an independent so I can’t vote in primaries, but I do know that Bill Roth was a good guy, Carper not so much, and Beau is likely to stay in Delaware one way or another for a long time. So how do people position themselves going forward to prevent what has happened in Delaware over the last 4 years since Biden was made VP? Its not Markell/Coons call to make what’s fair or not. I have a sense that the November election might not be as easy as he may think.

  7. Jason330 says:

“paid for by the friends of the party district committee”. What a joke. I’ll bet the union bug is fake.

  8. Alex says:

And honestly, if you guys are complaining about a handout, do you not see what has been going on in Delaware for a few years here? I mean cmon. Seriously? A fake handout? Axis of deceit? You have to be kidding me.

  9. Jason330 says:

So. … There is greater malfeasance so don’t pay attention to this minor malfeasance? I don’t get your point.

  10. DJR says:

The county executive race seems pretty cut and dry. The consensus seems to be that people want an ethical and honest alternative to Clark and Gordon.

  11. SussexWatcher says:

“Quite frankly, I’d like to see one of the governors race GOP candidates drop from that ticket and give Markell a run for his money behind Valenzuela.”

I might be able to respond if this made ANY sense at all. There is only one GOP candidate for governor.

  12. mediawatch says:

I could be wrong, but, given the names on the handout in the photo, I believe the candidates listed were endorsed by the Wilmington Democratic Committee, which did not go along with all of the state party’s endorsements.

  13. Alex says:

My point is that there has been a crisis of leadership in Delaware at pretty much all levels since Biden became VP and Roth was ousted by O’Donnell.

Did Gordon actually create a budget surplus in NCCO? Yup
Does being the “first Jewish governor” mean you can run your state effectively? No
Do Denn/Coons/Markell play too close to each other to maintain power? Yes.

So my broader question is, who is responsible for the absolute mess of a state Delaware has become when perceived by people outside of Delaware? Is it Markell? Is it Beau Biden? Is it crazy Sussex county Dover GOP people? Because after Joe Biden became VP, he no longer had a responsibility to preserve Delaware values. Everyone THINKS they do, which is how “special interest groups” actually work. So how do you fix the problem? You vote with your conscience.

@DJR please tell me more about ethics in Delaware politics and in the Delaware Bar. Because I’ll tell you the Court of Chancery had to literally be uncloaked out of “backroom secrecy” by federal mandate last week. I think the Obama administration (federal gov.) should have come into Delaware a few months ago and basically declare Marshall Law because of the violence and madness going on in Wilmington.

@SussexWatcher I thought there were two GOP primary candidates. If I’m wrong, ok

@Jason330 Tell me more about malfeasences in Delaware. How about Comcast having a monopoly in the city of Wilmington because of Baker and no one giving a shit enough to call him out on preserving a monopoly? How about the coordination of the policies of Wilmington, Dover, and Markell’s office making it a more and more economically segregated (i.e therefor violent) city than it was even 20 years ago. How about having to literally boil water to make it potable to drink in Midtown a few months ago because the city of Wilmington is so poorly mismanaged due to corporate interests getting involved with the Mayor’s office itself?

Do you want your kid to go to school on Lancaster Av. right now?

  14. george says:

@mediawatch: If they meant Wilmington Democratic Committee, they should have said so on the flyer. They did not and no doubt purposely left it out because the flyer is intended to imply the Democratic Party endorsed them all. Lying is the only thing every one of those clowns does well.

  15. SussexWatcher says:

Marshall Law is great. He’s the guy on How I Met Your Mother, right?

It’s martial. And the fact that you can’t spell, thought there were two GOP gubernatorial candidates, and believe that Bill Roth was beaten by Christine O’Donnell reveals you to be utterly unworthy of listening to. (It’s the combination. Jason can’t spell, but he knows his stuff.)

  16. Alex says:

@SussexWatcher it sounds better when you put Thurgood Marshall’s last name behind it right? And we BOTH know Christine O’Donnell beat Bill Roth in the primary. And then she lost. It was a Tea Party hijack. You know that, I know that. Its why Delaware Republicans (Carney?) basically don’t have any power in Washington until Valenzuela wins Denn’s seat.

And the guy on How I Met Your Mother? is a gay guy playing a straight guy. His name is Neil Patrick Harris, I think. And it’s a TV Show. I like TV shows just like I like politics, they are kind of the same thing. Speaking of which, you know how Christine O’Donnell won? Gay baiting in Sussex county.

  17. SussexWatcher says:

No, you dumbfuck, she beat Mike Castle.

I won’t even begin to address your HIMYM error. Sigh.

  18. Alex says:

🙂 Yeah your right, Mike Castle, I confuse longtime GOP Delaware stalwarts…that’s what I meant. Go ahead though, what is my HIMYM error?

  19. pandora says:

Christine O’Donnell beat Bill Roth? I didn’t know that! 😉

  20. The Truth says:

Alex “The Independent” sounds a lot like Independent Alex Pires, candidate for US Senate. Good to see you’re out there campaigning. How’s that reality show\documentary coming? Hahahahah

  21. saveourcity says:

I heard that the Wilmington Fire Union Local 1590 endorsed 13 candidates and that 10 of those candidates won. I guess this 09-11-2012 was a little pay back to those who like to lay off firefighters and police officers. Hats off to the Firefighters….

  22. city democrat says:

The County Democrats endorsed Taschner and Paul Clark. The City Democrats endorsed Chris Bullock and had no endorsemant on the County Executive. The State Democrats and County Democrats endorsed Mitch Crane. The City Democrats endorsed Commissioner Karen Weldin Stewart.
The political reality is City Democrats did great evening for their endorsed candidates. The State and County came in with NO WINS in the referenced races. we will see where and when the fallout begins–

  23. Mike Matthews says:

Hats off to the firefighters? As a city resident, I don’t like that those firefighters co-opted the fire trucks and hung banners for one candidate in particular and were driving around the city. I know their union supported Williams, but this is shameful.

My teachers’ union backed Mitch Crane, but it would be wrong for me to plaster my room with Mitch Crane posters. Same premise here. The firefighters need to watch that foolishness.

  24. @city democrat – try convincing this crowd it wasn’t some dramatic puppeteer act of Senator McDowell.

It is time for John Daniello to GO. That is clear.

  25. SussexWatcher says:

Mike – The elections dept. determined the truck was privately owned.

  26. Mike Matthews says:

    Thanks, SW.

  27. geezer says:

“who is responsible for the absolute mess of a state Delaware has become when perceived by people outside of Delaware?”

People outside of Delaware rarely “perceive” Delaware at all. Nobody but hand-wringing Republicans, in or out of the state, thinks it’s an “absolute mess.”

  28. Rockland says:

Geezer back to the basement. Delaware is a mess..

  29. Rockland says:

As many of you know I’m not a Lib-tard but I putting my $$$$ on Tom Gordon to straighten out the mess Chris Coons and his ghoul Paul Clark have created.

  30. Delaware Dem says:

To the moderation goes Rockland. You can take your slurs elsewhere

  31. saveourcity says:

@Mike Matthews—-The fire engine” to be politically correct” is privately own by a member of Local 1590 and was being used to also educated the residence of the city concerning the rolling by pass that Montgomery and Kelley were involved in starting the has endangered the lives of the citizens and firefighters since it was started. Since both of these candidates were running on a Public Safety Platform.
