What does the political media get…

Filed in National by on July 31, 2012

for 50 years of bending over backwards to prop up conservative nonsense, shallow “he said/she said” reporting and a devotion to incuriousness posing as objectivity?

Scorned. And they richly deserve it.

These findings from a Daily Kos/SEIU poll are not surprising.

Q: In general, do you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of the political media?

Favorable: 10
Unfavorable: 78
Not sure: 12

For once, something everyone agrees on, more or less. Self-identified Democrats actually have a somewhat more positive view of the political press, at 15-65, while Republicans are absolutely livid, with just 5% holding a favorable view and an amazing 91% saying they think of the political media negatively.

Richly deserved is right. I’d be interested in a poll or survey that tries to get at the source(s) of this. It would not surprise me if some of the negativity is colored by negativity about the government in general. But there’s alot that is really pretty lazy about the way that the media tells us about our politics.

Your post is based on the premise that the current media actually favors conservatism, which is decidedly false.

    Dismissed.

  3. Jason330 says:

The ironic part of the survey is that most Republicans distrust the media because they think it has a liberal bias. That is the absurd product if a highly sucessul PR campaign aimed at the moronic and easily duped.

So says an extremely useful idiot…

Which is why 70 percent of the public believed a Saddam-9/11 connection.

And that was before the birth of Politico.
