Tom Gordon Steals Obama’s Logo

Filed in National by on May 30, 2012

Really Tom? Really? Tom Gordon has appropriated the Obama/Biden campaign logo for his own in an obvious attempt to directly tie his campaign for County Executive to the President’s reelection effort.

Check it out.

Now, they are different enough where there is no copyright violations, but similar enough for Gordon to latch onto Obama’s brand.

I would say that Tom Gordon has no shame… but that would be redundant.

  2. Jason330 says:

Just like he latched onto Clinton’s economy. If it ain’t broken…

  3. socialistic ben says:

at least he’s one dem who isnt trying to run away from the president.

  4. fightingbluehen says:

Yeah, and they both stole the logo from Pepsi Cola.

BTW ,Obama endorsed some candidate for congress in Texas and the guy just lost his primary. I don’t think trying to succeed on Obama’s coattails or logo is any help these days.

To quote a well known local Sussex Countian…….. “He’s finished”

  5. fightingbluehen says:

I guess I should say, (in the words of) a local Sussex Countian because he was actually saying it about Carper and not Obama.

  6. socialistic ben says:

the primary you are reefering (i spelled that right) to was more bout prohibition and the need to end the war on drugs that has failed, and continues ot fail. The congressman who lost still supports this insane policy and most americans…. and obviously most people in his district, do not.

  7. Will McVay says:

That’s one positive sign that prohibition isn’t winning elections anymore…

Not in Texas, obviously. But which district was it, and what are its demographics?

  9. fightingbluehen says:

I don’t even get any enjoyment out my Obama shrine anymore. Maybe I’ll go out and get another rubber chicken to add to the offering pile which has been building over the years.

16th District (El Paso), 8 term incumbent beat by a young, energetic D whose father was the County Judge (think county executive) back in the 1980’s. Seat is safe D.

Just saw on DOL that Jonathan Husbands has entered race.

  12. uber40 says:

looks similar but wouldnt say he ‘stole’ it? red, white and blue are common colors. I mean, sure, its a circular web 2.0ish logo but I’m quite certain that no one has copy written a CIRCLE.

Reaching a bit, dont you think?

  13. Delaware Dem says:

Sure, the title of this post is sensationalistic. Yes, there is no copy right case here.

But, come on, uber40, it is obvious what Gordon is doing here. Gordon is hitching a ride like Marty McFly.

  14. Delaware Dem says:

It also occurs to me, why is Gordon using red white and blue and allusions to the American flag as his logo? While common for a Federal campaign, it is unusual for a county campaign.

  15. heh, I figured someone would make the point when I saw his logo. I remember DELDEM accusing the News Journal of stealing the DL logo not so long ago. 🙂

There may not be copyright issues here, but certainly there are vision issues, yes? If all he can do is rip off other peoples’ striking work in order to touch some of the magic, that’s not a good sign. And seriously, you are going to flaunt the fact that you are plagarizing other peoples’ stuff?

  17. mediawatch says:

Vision issues — you nailed that one, Cass.
Tom Gordon is short on vision, long on delusion.
My vision of him is strictly a nightmare.

I was more pissed by this image that they created.

  20. liberalgeek says:

Before the Gordon police (literally) come to get me, I made the image, not them.

This is awesome . . . he has gotten more press here than he could have ever gotten from his tomgordon2012.com website. LOL
