Carney speaks at a 9th grade level – Coons speaks at a 13th grade level – Carper speaks at a 9th grade level
Fairly predicable. Coons is the erudite egghead in the bunch. Carney knows enough words to give a good pep talk to a JV football team and after 80 years in politics, Carper naturally speaks down to everyone. These are the findings of Sunlight Labs which crunched the numbers. Among their macro-findings, Congress talk more dumb this year.
Tuesday Open Thread [5.22.12]
Former Philadelphia Phillie and Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling in recent years became a very public champion of conservative “small-government” politics. How ironic is it that then that when he launched a video game production company that two years ago set up shop in Rhode Island thanks to $75 million in state guaranteed loans. The least Schilling could have done then was thank the government rather bloviate about how government was evil.
Well, two years later, because Schilling sucks as a businesman, his business isn’t going so well, and this month Schilling’s company 38 Studios missed a $1.1 million payment to the state. He’s now asking for more taxpayer help.
Oh, the irony.

A new poll out of Texas keeps the state colored light red, as in Lean Romney. It shouldn’t be as surprising as you think it is. Further along in this post, we will discuss Texas’ future as a swing state (yes, it is coming). But not this year, as Texas will be won by Romney, no doubt about that.

The Al Mascitti Show Open Thread
Our own El Somnambulo will be live on the Al Mascitti Show this morning at 10 on 1150 AM, WDEL. Use this thread to talk about what they talk about.
Good News.
In case you were wondering where El Som’s Pre-game / Post-game posts are this week, well, they will not be appearing as the General Assembly is on a two week recess while the Joint Finance Committee meets to mark up the budget. And on that front, the Delaware Economic and Financial Advisory Council (DEFAC) announced yesterday that the state’s revenues are much more than expected.
