Biden Bringing the Heat

Filed in National by on May 16, 2012

He is such a huge campaign asset, and so great at bringing the working class heat, that it is almost too perfect that the Republicans picked Mitt Romney.

  1. Rusty Dils says:

Normal liberal speech. featuring the liberal staple, “contradictions” Contradictions are a liberal staple. Because their arugements don’t work.

In this speech, Biden says his parents dreamed that he could be president, or vice president, And that his siblings could be millionaires, (Six seconds later in the speech). The rich just don’t get it.

What, What, His parents dreamed his siblings could be millionaires, and he could be vice president,(like that is something to aspire to be, and then six seconds later, he says the millionairs don’t get it). What, What. Tell biden to start waiting more than six seconds before he contradicts himself.

I will also say this, he is pissed off in this speech, as are many of the delaware liberal folks, cutting off anyone with a different opinion. All the liberals seem to be getting a little edgy now that Romney is starting to pull ahead in the polls, swiss bank account or not.

  2. jason330 says:

He never says “contradictions,” What speech were you listening too?

  3. nemski says:

The one his handlers told him to listen to.

  4. Rusty Dils says:

The contradiction is that in one sentance he says his parents dreamed that his siblings could become millionaires, like that was something that would be great if it happened, like becoming vice president that they also dreamed for him, and in the very next sentance, he says the rich don’t get it. So he is critizing millionaires, six seconds after he inferred it would be something that his parents dreamed for his siblings.

As ususal, liberals want their cake and to be able to eat it too.

  5. Valentine says:

How is that a contradiction? His parents told him he could be a millionaire. Biden says millionaires don’t get it. He and his parents are different people.

  6. John Manifold says:

Rusty’s got a boner for Clatworthy.

  7. pandora says:

You’re right, Valentine. It’s not a contradiction. What Biden was saying is that everyone has dreams, and that he’s tired of people like Romney acting as if only “successful” people cared enough to dream and work toward achieving that dream.

It’s the old “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” mentality or if “you cared enough or worked hard enough” you’d be rich like me nonsense.

People like Romney never acknowledge their advantages, only their awesomeness.

  8. Rusty Dils says:

You guys are looking at this through rose colored glasses.

Its like this example. Lets say I want to motivate one of my sons to to good in school, so they can go to college, and maybe have a great career. So If I am biden, here is how I would phrase it.

Son, you need to study hard in school, go to college, if you do all that, then you can become a doctor. You know son, doctors are the biggest pieces of bleep that ever walked the face of the earth.

Not very motivational is it. (Because it is contradictory)

Like a football coach that says huring up and score to catch up to the other team, but don’t do it to quick, you will leave to much time on the clock. (What is the team supposed to do?)

So If Bidens parents dreamed of his siblings becoming millionaires, Biden is on the one hand saying that becoming a millionaire would be a great thing, In general. In in the next breath, he is dissing on millionaires, so to not be contradictory, he needs to finish his parents dreams by saying, his parents dreams for his siblings were lousy dreams. But he does not do that, so it is a contradictory statement. And since it is a contradictory statement, it is not a good speech. People always say Obama gives good speeches. I disagree, 100% of the time, his speeches are filled with contracdictions. That voids the speeches from being good speech.

If my speech teacher in school tells me to go up front a give a speech, and I give a long speech, and ramble on for 10 minutes, and my speech is filled with contradictions, then no matter how eloquent the speech sounded, and no matter how well I spoke it, a speech filled with contradictions is not a good speech.

dils is doing an excellent job proving Biden’s point about conservatives not understanding America.

  10. cassandra m says:

No kidding. I saw a good bit more of this speech last night and boy did he knock it out of the park. The “they don’t get us” was about the dignity of work, wanting the playing field to be more level for everyone and making sure your kids have the opportunity to do better. That can’t happen with the Bains of the world with their thumb on the scale, writing the rules to benefit themselves.

Nicely done. Especially since this speech ought to create a great deal of cognitive dissonance among working class conservatives who have been suckered into advocating for the people who keep outsourcing their jobs, bankrupting their companies and killing their pension plans.

  11. Jason330 says:

I agree. I also think that beyond content, Biden’s “put up your dukes” fighting style allows the duped working class to come back to the Dems in a way that Obama’s more professorial style doesn’t. It is an awesome 1,2 punch combination.

    Have you seen this

It is now starting to look to me like President Obama is taking a Cue from George Costanza, When George was purposely trying to get fired from the Yankees.

I’m at this point not sure that President Obama isnt trying to get fired. Look at the article above. This is really going to put people off.

  13. Jason330 says:

    Not interested.

  14. Valentine says:

I guess the people Biden’s speech was aimed at get it, and other people don’t. It made sense to me.

Biden’s parents believed in the American Dream. That Dream is gone, and the very wealthy don’t get it because they don’t understand the struggles of working people or their hopes and dreams.
