Delaware Businesses for Social Responsibility (DBSR) to launch as an affiliate partner of the American Sustainable Business Council

Filed in National by on May 11, 2012

Delaware Businesses for Social Responsibility (DBSR), is a group of businesses that believe that a well-run state government and successful communities are good for business.

To help promote our our mission of fostering a business environment in Delaware that advances a business ethic that values multiple bottom lines—economic, social, and environmental, we are proud to announce that DBSR will formally launch early this summer as an affiliate partner of the American Sustainable Business Council.

The ASBC is a nation-wide partnership of 48+ business associations representing over 100,000 businesses and 300,000 entrepreneurs, managers, and investors which support sustainable and socially-responsible business practices and advocate for strong local Main Street economies. Upcoming ASBC activities include a may 15th conference call with Rep. Ellison, co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and a June 11th – 13th Policy Summit in Washington DC which will include a full-day program at the White House featuring presentations and interactive panel discussions with senior Administration officials.

Unlike other business groups that claim to speak on behalf of businesses while pursuing a narrow ideological agenda of short sighted tax cuts which weaken our economy, the DBSR and ASBC are committed to promoting legislation which recognizes equality, supports fairness, and promotes investments in our infrastructure and quality of life.

This is really great, Jason! You should get in contact with the Downtown Visions people to let them know this is here and see if they can help reach out to local businesses.
