Filed in Arts and Entertainment by on April 30, 2012

Cassandra_m brought this to our attention on Saturday, a petition to get Jon Stewart to moderate a presidential debate. That would be teh awesome and will probably never happen. But sign the petition anyway, who knows?

    Based on his bullshit remarks at the “Rally for Sanity” it is safe to assume that Stewart would be just as “he said/she said – a pox on both your houses – they all do it – being objective means ignoring the outright lies” kind of moderator as Wolf Blitzer.

    Funnier, to be sure, but still giving far too much credence to Republican nonsense out of a sense of “fairness.”

  2. socialistic ben says:

    He has a fair case to make against the media…. which he did at the Rally. Just because the right wing has Beck and Hannity doesn’t mean we had ot have Keith, or need to have Ed Schultz or Maher (who wishes he was Stewart) Most people perceive there to be guilt from both sides (right or wrong)… if you have to acknowledge that (even if you disagree with it) to get them to listen, why is that a bad thing?

    hold on, let me find cover.

  3. Jason330 says:

    Oy. Now you are the liberal version of Glen Beck if you fail to give credence to Republican nonsense out of a sense of “fairness.”

    No wonder this country is sucking so hard. A guy called socialistic Ben thinks both sides do it.

  4. socialistic ben says:

    i dont think both sides do it. I think we can exploit the fact that a lot of people THINK both sides do it for better ends.
    besides, how much good can someone like (for example) Olbermann do “for the cause” if he is such an egomaniacal jack-ass that he cant keep a job? With friends like that……

  5. Rustydils says:

    You guys do realize that john stewart is a comedian, right. We might as well see if chris rock, or ron white want to do it

  6. Delawarelefty says:

    Yo Rusty, you do realize John Stewart has more sense than any rethug leader, right. He might as well be Mittens.

  7. anon40 says:

    @sb–

    Do you really think Maher wishes he was Stewart?

    Maher is a smug, pompous, condescending ass. He’s also often very funny. He’s roughly the left wing equivalent of William F. Buckley, Jr., but with a sense of humor & without the Patrician affect.

    BTW, both sides do it, but the right wingers like Limbaugh and Hannity have a much bigger and more active following than Olbermann & Schultz.

  8. anon40 says:

    @Rustydils–

    You realize that Ron White or Chris Rock could easily host a serious Presidential Debate, don’t you?

    Did you ever watch The Daily Show when Chris Rock was covering the Republican Primary in New Hampshire, and later that same year the Republican Convention? Priceless!

  9. Rustydils says:

    You mean a serious debate, or a joke. Neither chris rock, nor ron white, nor john stewart would be qualidied to moderate a serious debate, you must be kidding

  10. Liberal Elite says:

    @Rd “…qualidied to moderate a serious debate,…”

    But, but, but the GOP doesn’t seem to have serious debates.

    It was more like a parade of clowns spouting off crazy nonsense.
