    Ginger Gibson ‏ @GingerGibson
Four district reporting in DE, all in Sussex County, and Romney leads. Not good early signs for Newt.

    The Fix ‏ @TheFix
Things no one ever thought would be written: “For Gingrich it all comes down to Delaware”.

  3. Delaware Dem says:

RT AP: @MittRomney wins the #CTPrimary

  4. Delaware Dem says:

    HuffPost Politics ‏ @HuffPostPol
Mitt Romney wins the Connecticut and Rhode Island primaries

  5. Delaware Dem says:

All districts reporting are from Sussex Co. So, Gingrich is failing. Romney will win the Delaware Republican Primary.

  6. Delaware Dem says:

@GingerGibson: Really early results, Newt losing Kent and Sussex counties. He’ll never win Del. without those two.

  7. Delaware Dem says:

Doug Denison ‏ @DoverDelDenison With 9% of districts reporting, turnout is just 2% of registered Republicans #netde

  8. Delaware Dem says:

NBC News declares Mitt Romney the projected winner in Delaware.

  9. MJ says:

Two percent turnout? Can we say enthusiasm gap?

  10. anon says:

    Fifteen percent.

  11. mediawatch says:

How’d’ya like that Christine O’Donnell? She endorses Mitt, he takes the state.

  12. cassandra_m says:

Apparently there is so little excitement for any of these races that the local NPR station is warning people that they will be talking about the possibly more exciting General election tonite in addition to the boring GOP primaries.

  13. Aoine says:

what is even scarier is that 2% of the registered republicans voted

WORSE!! – 6.1% voted for someone not even running for President!!

    ROTFLMO!!

  14. Joanne Christian says:

And to think some people complain about school board election turn-out 🙂

  15. anon says:

If I direct you to the numbers, Jason and Aoine, will you acknowledge that turnout was NOT 2 percent, but rather 16 percent?

  16. Aoine says:

    yes – you are correct

HOWEVER! a man NOT even running for office still had 1,690 REPUBLICANS vote for him

    and 551 were in Sussex

    800 in DOver

    and

    339 were in Kent

maybe they didnt have Faux news on…..

  17. Aoine says:

Newest numbers – 16% of registered Repubilcans voted

im still looking to see what is the dumbest District in Delaware

in other words where Santorum got the most votes…

and the winner of the DUMBEST REPUBLICAN ED is:

    1. the 33rd Electoral District with 104 votes cast for Santorum

    2. the 38th ED with 93 votes casst for Santorum

    3. the 41st ED with 80 votes cast for Santorum

    4. the 9th ED with 73 votes cast for Santorum

    no surprises there

  18. Aoine says:

    whoops not Dover – sorry
    New Caste county

800 votes for Santorum in New Castle – but lets look at the per capita ratio

thats why I broke it down

  19. anon says:

That happens all the time in politics. Even happened with DEMOCRATS.

Just one example: In the Delaware Democratic primary of 2008, more than 4,000 people voted for candidates who weren’t running. The primary was Feb. 5. By that time, Joe Biden had dropped out (but got 2,863 votes), as had John Edwards (1,241), Dennis Kucinich (192) and Chris Dodd (170).

But hey, don’t let facts stand in the way of your sanctimony and ignorance.

  20. MJ says:

Anon – at least the Dems you mentioned knew early on that they didn’t have a chance of winning the nomination, unlike Scrotorum, who kept tilting at the windmill. Still a huge enthusiasm gap for Rmoney, especially in the tehadist branch of the GOP.

  21. Jason330 says:

16% of registered Republicans voted. Feel the Mitt-mentum!
