Whose Fault Is It Anyway?

Filed in National by on April 23, 2012

One of America’s greatest faults is our lack of memory – a collective amnesia. Candidate Mitt Romney and his advisors are counting on this.

Paul Krugman explains:

… I guess accusing Mr. Obama of not doing enough to promote recovery is a better argument than blaming him for the effects of Bush policies. However, it’s not much better, since Mr. Romney is essentially advocating a return to those very same Bush policies. And he’s hoping that you don’t remember how badly those policies worked.

Yes, there are things President Obama could have done better, for instance making the stimulous bigger than it was. However, Governor Romney’s plan on improving the economy is a look back to 2000. And look where that got us in 8 years.

Instead, he’s basically attacking Mr. Obama for not acting as if George Bush had been given a third term. Are the American people — and perhaps more to the point, the news media — forgetful enough for that attack to work? I guess we’ll find out.

How can anyone think the guy is going to get re-elected? C’mon, Romney, do another interview and say, loudly if necessary, “Hey, Obama – START PACKING!!!”

  2. Rustydils says:

George W. Bush is no Mitt Romney. That juneville tactit is not going to work either, But nice try. ” You liberals just keep thinking, thats what your good at. “Kid, us liberals have vision, the rest of the world wears bifoucles.”

@R “How can anyone think the guy is going to get re-elected?”

Have you seen the recent polling data? Ohio? Pennsylvania? Nevada? Wisconsin? … heck, even Virginia and Florida!

As much as people have doubts about Obama, they really don’t like what they see in Romney.

  5. Jason330 says:

LE, I was going to mention that, but just knowing that it is going to be a long 8 months and an even longer 4 years for these guys was enough.

  6. Rustydils says:

It is going to be a long 7 plus months, but for liberals it is going to be a long 20 years. You see we are taking the car keys away from our 16 year old kid, and not giving them back until the kid is 36. You see, the kid has been driving way to reckless, and there is just not enough money left to pay for the five trillion in damage. Even though the kid promises he wont be reckless anymore. 2032 will be the next time the kid will be behind the wheel. Hopefully he will have learned his lesson by then, but I doubt it.

    Keep deluding yourself, Rustydils.

I’m less than impressed with Obama’s performance as President, but I don’t see Romney beating him unless we have a major catastrophe between now & November AND Obama responds poorly to that catastrophe. Odds are Obama will be reelected.

  8. Rustydils says:

Anon40, dont qualify your prediction like that, dont give yourself an out like all the weak msm do, just be tough and predict obama victory no matter what. I am predicting romney no matter what

  9. Liberal Elite says:

@Rd ” I am predicting romney no matter what”

And you wonder why no one takes you seriously. You’re not predicting anything.

Here’s a vocabulary lesson for you: There’s a big difference between wishing for something and predicting something.

This is something that religious people often have trouble grasping. The whole concept of faith inhibits critical thinking and equates and wishing for something with believing in something.

We got it… You have total faith in Romney’s victory. Now go and pray to your GOP golden idols.
