Romney: Obama Isn’t Really An American

Filed in National by on April 20, 2012

David Corn has a good post on Governor Romney’s continued insistence that President Obama doesn’t understand America. After reviewing the remarks by West and Nugent, Corn ties this in neatly with Romney’s nudge nudge wink wink speeches painting Obama as a Kenyan and a Muslim.

Romney routinely criticizes Obama as someone who neither likes America nor gets it. . . . He repeatedly charges that Obama does not truly understand this nation or grasp that America is special. As if Obama were an outsider.

He wraps up with this:

Romney doesn’t call Obama a commie. He doesn’t question his birthplace. He doesn’t say the president is a criminal. He doesn’t suggest he’s Muslim-y. He doesn’t declare that Obama hates America or harbors anti-American views. But Romney has welcomed the backing of those who make these types of claims, and he has even courted these over-the-top Obama foes (as he did with Nugent, after the gun-lovin’, aging rocker had violently threatened Obama and Hillary Clinton). He legitimizes and exploits those who engage in Obama hate-mongering and who debase the political discourse Romney claims to care about. More important, with his own words, Romney has attempted to reinforce the notion that Obama is not truly part of the nation he leads. He has mainstreamed the Obama-ain’t-really-American meme of the right. And that is hardly civil.

Democrats win the moral high-ground, while Republicans win elections.

Uh…Obama does not like nor understand America. He IS an outsider.

After all, why would he lament the Constitution as a document of negative rights, while saying over and over he wanted to “fundamentally change” America?

It really makes me wonder about the patriotism of those who would vote for him.

Obama needs to be exposed. He’s a second generation communist and after seeing him with Medvedev and considering how he’s removing our nuclear missiles, clearly illustrates his boot licking lackey-boy attitude towards our arch enemies whether he’s a double agent working for them or not. Obama is a Satan-like figure in sheep clothes. Pure ebony-evil and racist true-blue, through and through – yes,,, communist to the core, bent on destroying America. He should be impeached and tried for treason.

uh oh everyone!!!! rob found out the plot!!!
Damn, he must have one of those Patriot-Hats made of tin foil i keep hearing about. It keeps out mind-control rays (broadcast from MSNBC) from getting to them.

    @AQC “Don’t we have a moderator here?”

If not, can I call Rob an utter racist piece of scum? The lowest of the low? Someone worth spitting on?

  8. AQC says:

LE, only if you also call KEVIN a worthless piece of shit!

  9. MJ says:

SB – that’s MSDNC (at least according to the Fatman).

  10. Que Pasa says:

No…its PMSDNC. A bunch of sqawking and belly aching with a leftist bent.

  11. MJ says:

Yawn. You try too hard, QP.

  12. Joe Cass says:

Americans will never elect a Mormon.. That is all.

  13. Que Pasa says:

Rather a Mormon than a socialist, raised and mentored by America haters, with a soft-spot in his heart for Islam.

  14. socialistic ben says:

qp, do you plan to keep this up until november?

  15. Que Pasa says:

    Yep, November 2016 if I have to…LOL!

  16. Truth Teller says:

Mittens is the stander bearer for the UN American award for the following reasons 1.) he shipped American jobs overseas while laying off Americans at home 2.) he invested his money in foreign accounts 3.) During Nam he hid out in France attempting to convert Christians to the Mormon Cult. 4.) Not one of his five sons were instilled by him to serve in the Military while this country was engaged in two wars in fact when questioned on this subject his reply was that they had more important things to do like working to get him elected president,5.) and last but not least this man who wants to be Commander in Chief stood silent like a coward on stage while the crowd booed an active serviceman stationed in Iraq. These and many other reasons to numerous to mention disqualify him for the job

Personally I would rather vote for a Capitalist than a Keynesian 😉
Keynesian economics simply do not work.

As Bill Clinton said, “It’s the economy stupid” and only R.Money is capable of fixing the mess this Keynesian has created.

  18. Geezer says:

“Keynesian economics simply do not work.”

The only true word in that comment is “simply.”

  19. thenewphil says:

3 times i read that as Kenyan economics and was so confused…

  20. Dana Garrett says:

Show that the nutjobs are nutty and instead of walking back their ridiculous rhetoric, they double down on it: Obama is a second generation commie who hates America and has a soft spot for Islam…blah, blah, blah. There used to be a group of conservatives who were intellectually inclined and who offered occasional sophisticated arguments. But they are nearly all gone now. Instead we are left with the scum who can’t speak beyond regurgitating a few vicious cliches…just like the ones on this thread.

  21. Liberal Elite says:

@ID “Personally I would rather vote for a Capitalist than a Keynesian”

Good old fashion capitalism (e.g. Adam Smith) is fine if applied to a level playing field.

But what Romney represents is capitalism at its worst. Exploitive capitalism!

He will take this country, treat it like a troubled asset and shamelessly exploit it to the benefit of his shareholders… I mean donors. (I wonder if Romney knows the difference).

There’s a really good reason that Romney didn’t have a chance in hell of getting re-elected in Massachusetts. Go back on look at what he did there… vs. what he said he was going to do.
