Obama’s taxing questions taunt Romney

Filed in National by on April 14, 2012

President Barack Obama has called on Republican Mitt Romney to release his past tax returns, saying that candidates for office need to be “as transparent as possible.”

Obama told Univision in an interview conducted at the Summit of the Americas in Colombia that candidates need to disclose their tax records as a way of letting the public know their financial background. It was the first time Obama had made the request personally, His campaign has pressured Romney to release a trove of tax documents going back to the 1990s.

I already know Rmoney’s asinine response, “But when will Obama release his REAL birth certificate and his REAL college transcripts?”

I’m thinking we should make it mandatory that every presidential candidate releases their tax form to the Federal Election Commission when they sign up for office. If they don’t want to make it public, don’t run. But at least it gets out there for all to see early enough to make a difference in the primaries. Under current law, we make them sign pledges, oaths, and signatories that are watered-down and meaningless, so why not just plop down the past 5 years of tax form?

Just to keep my ears clear of listening to candidates trying to act like tough guys by calling out the other to release their tax forms (they always do. would alone be worth having this law passed before the 2016 run…….

Obama, mr transperency has spent millions of dollars hiding pertinent information from the public. When they wanted gov rick perrys college transcripts thet were able to get them no problem. Obama asking romney to be transparent, if thats not the pot calling the kettle black, I dont know what is.
I wish we already had that proof of citezinship to become a candidate, law in place last election cycle, if so, we would have a different president now.

Rusty, WTF does the President’s college transcripts have to do with anything? And stop with the birther bullshit. You’re making your already weak case even weaker. You’re as clownish as Jeff Christopher and the Fatman.

But his boy Rmoney hasn’t release either his transcripts or his tax returns. So Rd here is full of shit as usual.

And this birther BS is just tinfoilhattery, so stop it. It doesn’t add to the conversation.

@Rd “…gov rick perrys college transcripts thet were able to get them no problem.”

Uhh. There was a problem. They reinforced the view that he was a total doofus and sped his exit from the GOP stage. Was it fair what the press did to Rick Perry? Not really.

Your request for transcripts is a purely partisan ploy.

@MJ “Rusty, WTF does the President’s college transcripts have to do with anything?”

Nothing, but it’s an opportunity to needle the president and maybe grab a few votes.

But the tax returns ARE a big deal. Romney is a tax cheat, and that should bite him in the ass, and bite him good.
