NATIONAL–PRESIDENT–GENERAL ELECTION (Washington Post / ABC News): Obama 51, Romney 44.

A new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds President Obama has double-digit leads over Mitt Romney on who would do a better job of protecting the middle class, handling international affairs and dealing with health care. On personal traits, the president’s edge is even bigger: He has a better than 2-to-1 advantage as the more friendly and likable of the two, and nearly that margin as “more inspiring.”

However, on the economy and jobs “the contest is considerably more competitive, with about as many trusting Romney on the issues as Obama.”

NATIONAL–PRESIDENT–REPUBLICAN PRIMARY (Gallup Tracking): Romney 42, Santorum 25, Paul 11, Gingrich 9
NATIONAL–PRESIDENT–GENERAL ELECTION (Rasmussen Tracking): Obama 46, Romney 44
NATIONAL–PRESIDENT–GENERAL ELECTION (Third Way/Global Strategy Group): Obama 35, Romney 29
MICHIGAN–PRESIDENT–GENERAL ELECTION (EPIC/MRA): Obama 47, Romney 43

    Other news, Santoruming aside:

    – Bob Frederick has filed for the 6th Senate seat.

    – One Benjamin D. Lowe of Laurel has filed for the 40th House seat, setting up a Democratic primary between him and Realtor Raymond C. Adkins. Anyone heard of this guy?

    – Ruth Briggs King has filed for re-election in the 37th.

For some reason, these Sussex County filings are not included on the DOE’s statewide candidate listings, even though NCCo legislators, NCCo county offices and Wilmington candidates are. Yo, Elaine, do you people not understand the idea of a single list?
