I suppose the reason why is that he is a darling of “Delaware Politics,” the teahadist blog. If you search “James Van Houten Delaware” this is a screenshot of what you find:

So if you want to read more about him, you know what to do. Have fun.

So we have polled the Governor, Lt. Governor, Insurance Commissioner, both our Senators, our Congressman, Treasurer, Auditor, Attorney General, and all of their respective Republican opposition if they are running for reelection in 2012. What we have not done yet is poll Democratic opposition. And the only official running for reelection this year facing a primary is Insurance Commissioner Karen Weldin Stewart. So let’s poll her primary opposition.

She has two opponents: Vincent White and Mitch Crane. Crane is up first.

Van Houton puffed up his military resume by claiming, falsely, that he guarded Gen. Omar Bradley before he died. What VH didn’t realize was that some of us on here are veterans and actually were stationed at the Army Medical Center in El Paso, TX where Bradley lived out his final years. That and some phone calls to the Provost Marshal at Ft. Bliss totally destroyed his fable.

  2. Do you favor the democrat that’s in there now, who is under Federal and State Investigation, or do you favor having discounts for the first time in years?

I’m the only candidate that’s going to offer you up to an additional 15% off your insurance discounts. Still think I’m unfavorable?

P.S. Any time, any place, you want to meet, I will show you paperwork proving that I was stationed at Fort Bliss, TX. The calls to the Fort Bliss MPs were too many years after General Omar Bradley died, and they are no proof of anything.

    1. Federal *and* state investigation? Do tell!

    2. 15% off insurance discounts? What discounts? And how — *exactly* — will you be doing this?

    3. And you can post that paperwork online where everybody can see it, you know. Do those papers also prove you were guarding General Bradley too?

  4. MJ says:

Van Houten, I was stationed at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, TX which is where Gen. Bradley died. I was the Legal Administrative Specialist for WBAMC, working directly for the Troop Commander and Commanding General (at the time I was there, I reported to LTC(P) Kenneth J. Damian and BG John E. Major).

WBAMC had its own Provost Marshal and own company of MP’s. I dealt with each every day, along with the MP’s on main post. Gen Bradley’s house on the grounds of WBAMC has been preserved and newly assigned personnel are regaled with the history of WBAMC, including the time Gen. Bradley spent there. While you may have been stationed at Ft. Bliss (many of us called it Fort Blister because it’s in the western Texas desert), your stories of how Mrs. Bradley gave you cookies and greeted you each day is a fantasy you made up. In other words, it’s pure, unadulterated bullshit.

Now, at the Values Forum last month up in NCCo, you claimed that KWS was under Federal and State investigation. However, you offered no proof. Much like your stories about guarding Gen. Bradley, saying KWS is under investigation again and again doesn’t make it the truth. Either offer proof of this or retract the statement.

At the Forum (which was sponsored by the DFPC I believe), you also made your claim about reducing insurance premiums by 15%. You were asked one question – how. Your response – “It’s a secret.”

Yeah, I think you’re still highly unfavorable and full of hot air.

  5. MJ says:

Actually, anyone who promotes an editorial entitled “Why Delaware (and America) Needs the Tea Party” on their campaign website is totally unqualified to hold office, IMO.

  6. Any time, any place, anywhere, you want to show your documents, let me know and we can meet. And KWS, you can find out online that she is under investigation, it’s not hard to find.

  7. cassandra m says:

    So, you got nothin’ then.

    Figures.

  8. Joe Cass says:

Go Jimmy! Your armor of ignorance is impervious to facts!
    And a salad wouldn’t hurt.

  9. MJ says:

Dude, you’re the one that needs to prove what you’ve said. As Cass wrote, you got nothin’, unless you’re referring to the CRI “study,” and if you are, then you got nothin’!

Van Houten, you’re a lie and your breath smells, too.

I’d take Joe’s advice. And a long walk around the block wouldn’t hurt, either.
