Our Interview with Bryan Townsend (D) in the 11th SD

Filed in National by on March 5, 2012

El Som and I had the opportunity to sit down with Bryan Townsend last week for what we hope will be a first in several interviews over the coming campaign. As you may know Townsend is challenging Senator Tony Deluca (D) in the 11th Senate District. And as you know, we don’t like Tony Deluca around these parts. So I looked forward to meeting him, and I came away impressed. Should Bryan beat Tony Deluca this September, he will very quickly become a rising star in the party.

  1. I know that there are more controversial threads taking place on this board right now. However, I URGE you to take some time and listen to this interview.

Like Delaware Dem, I was very impressed with Bryan. Thoughtful, intelligent, and genuinely committed to the community he seeks to serve.

Imagine this guy serving in the State Senate instead of Tony DeLuca. Then realize that this can really happen this year–with your support.

It won’t be easy, but nothing’s more fun in politics than getting involved in a grassroots campaign and knocking off a powerful incumbent who deserves being knocked off.

Then, head on over to his website:

  2. DE Idealist says:

    Jason and El Som,

Thanks for taking the time to do this interview. It’s evident through listening to him speak that Mr. Townsend is an impressive young man with a real grasp of the issues. If he gets the chance to meet enough voters, I like his chances in September.

  3. Bill Humphrey says:

I first met Bryan by chance while canvassing in his neighborhood on Election Day in 2010. I’ve been in touch with him pretty regularly ever since. He’s a great guy, very generous with his time and energy, very smart, and very friendly. He has a pretty good handle on the legislative process already, too, so I have no doubts that he’d get off to a great start if elected.

  4. AQC says:

I liked him as well. He’s got an uphill battle so he will need all the help he can get.
