Delaware Liberal Tracking Poll Results: Congressman John Carney

Filed in Delaware by on February 17, 2012

I did not know what to expect with the results on John Carney’s job performance. Will he be seen as Carper Junior and suffer accordingly? On the other hand, while it is not his or his staff’s fault, you get the feeling that John Carney has been invisible because he, as a Democrat, is in the minority in the House. And thus he gets little opportunity to make news. To his and his staff’s credit, they make their news anyway, as I receive a press release from his congressional office at least three times a week.

Well, it looks like that work paid off.

Do You approve or disapprove of Congressman John Carney’s job performance?

Approve — 34%
Strongly Approve — 22%
Strongly Disapprove — 20%
Don’t Know / No Opinion / Meh — 13%
Disapprove — 12%

Standard caveat: This is an unscientific, possibly inaccurate internet poll of 86 people who read Delaware Liberal on a daily basis.

A 56% approval rating for the freshman Congressman is pretty good.

Next up…. our dear friend, Senator Thomas Carper.

From an training standpoint, I’m disappointed that this cuts Carney slack. The press releases seem very hedgy and murky to me. Like Team Carney is trying to stake out Castle’s wall-to-wall beige turf.

I’d prefer a red blooded, unapologetic Democrat.

  2. Jason330 says:

What the…? Eleven people “Strongly Approve” of Carper so far? This poll is either being freep’ed by Del Dem HQ or BoA HQ. Good for them for being DL readers.

  3. Young Dem says:

Don’t look now…. Up to 34 people strongly approve of Carper. I don’t know guys. He polls consistantly above 60% statewide and apparently even our readers strongly approve of the guy. I think we may be more out of touch than we think he is.

  4. Jason330 says:

C’mon man. “our readers” “than we think” You are killing me.

Sure Carper polls about 60% statewide, because the DEGOP is a joke and has never put up anything other than a tomato can to run against him.

No sir. The only way to explain the polling result here is freeperism.

“Our” readers? Given how many of Delaware’s quivering-liver politicos read this site, I’m not the least bit surprised (and given their propensity to put a lot of stock in crap like this, I wouldn’t be the least surprised if some of the votes came from people who aren’t actually “readers.”) If politicians reflect the people who vote for them, should anyone be surprised that Delawareans like a guy with the personality of a sea sponge and a spine to match?

Out of touch with what? If all you want to do is follow the ignorant masses, I suppose you’ll go far in modern politics. Sad that today’s youth don’t aim any higher.

  6. puck says:

There’s a higher number of Strongly Approve than Approve, which probably indicates a freeping is under way, especially this early in the poll.

  7. Young Dem says:

Sooorrry!! Wow guys. Didn’t know you felt so strongly about it.

    1. If these straw polls can’t be trusted, why do them? It leaves us open to attacks.(Freeping issue)

    2. I think we should stand by our results even if we don’t like them. Whats to stop the KWS crowd from saying that her negative results were a freeping issue.

3.”If politicians reflect the people who vote for them, should anyone be surprised that Delawareans like a guy with the personality of a sea sponge and a spine to match?”

Geezer, asside from you knocking me (after I voted strongly disapprove) you just knocked more than 60% of the state of Delaware in order to express your dislike for one politician. Way to go buddy.

  8. Senator Tom Carper says:

I just want to be clear that I have not instructed the mewling peons who scurry around under my feet to come here and vote in your stupid poll. Did they decided to come here on their own because they have learned to avoid being screw ups in need of beatings? It’s possible.

The important thing is that we continue to service the needs of large multinational corporations with post office boxes here in Delaware. To that end, I’d like all you communist mother-fuckers to visit my website and contribute some money.

Since awesome pictures of me pointing at things and pretending to talk to guys in hard hats might distract you from turning your pockets inside out to help me help the 1%, the web link below goes directly to the contribution page.

    HILARIOUS!!! LOL

I love it when Senator Tom stops by to comment.

Oh, heaven forfend. I could actually find reasons to knock the entire 100%, myself included. The difference between you and me is I don’t have any loyalty to the Democratic Party. I consider it more crooked than the GOP.

Tom Carper, in case I didn’t make it plain enough for you, is a useless fraud. A full accounting of his career accomplishments wouldn’t fill a postcard.
