Public Policy Polling has a new national poll of the GOP presidential primary in the field right now and last night tweeted that Rick Freaking Santorum is the new nationwide frontrunner. Sweet Mother of God.

Meanwhile, Gingrich’s sugar daddy, casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, says he is done contributing to the Super PAC backing Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign. So that is the end of Gingrich.

REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY

NATIONAL (Gallup Tracking): Romney 36, Gingrich 20, Santorum 20, Paul 10

PENNSYLVANIA (Tribune-Review / WPXI): Santorum 30, Romney 29, Gingrich 13, Paul 9

GENERAL ELECTION – PRESIDENT

PENNSYLVANIA (Tribune-Review / WPXI): Romney d. Obama (45-43); Obama d. Santorum (47-43)

NATIONAL (Rasmussen): Obama d. Romney (48-42)

ILLINOIS (Chicago Tribune): Obama d. Romney (56-35); Obama d. Gingrich (58-30)

NORTH CAROLINA (PPP): Obama d. Romney (47-46); Obama d. Santorum (48-46); Obama d. Gingrich (50-45); Obama d. Paul (47-41)

OHIO (Ramussen): Obama tied with Santorum (44-44); Obama d. Romney (45-41)

Looks like Rasmussen is back to stacking the deck for Republicans.

Santorum can’t be the nominee. He sets my brain on fire. First the BC shenanigans and now this:

Pandora, please help me quell my ladyrage.

    Hmmm… ladyrage… Sounds pretty emotional…

What about when we go to war with Russia….. they will just arm bears (hehe) to sniff out the menstruation….. unless all the women were on birth control… OH MY GOD! THATS why the repukes are against birth control… so women dont have to fight in Russia and arent used as beacons for the lazer-cannon-bears. the GOP is just trying to protect you ungrateful girls….

  4. V says:

Fun fact: Russia had female soldiers (front-line combat) in WWII. I guess they did something about the bears.

Thanks for my fulfilling my ‘gaslighting’ quotient for the week gentleman.

    I’ll start by slapping LG, V. 🙂

V, do not quell your ladyrage. Keep shouting. Tell everyone you know about Santorum and what he says. There’s a reason Pennsylvania booted him. He still has one of the biggest losses in history. Very embarrassing.

Right now he’s simply another “Not Romney” candidate, a sideshow. He’s not in the big spotlight. We saw this happen with Newt. Now, if Santorum grabs the spotlight from Mitt and ends up with the nomination (not seeing that happen yet) everything he says will no longer be used to simply stress how much Mitt is disliked – which is what’s happening now – it will become all about Santorum.

Console yourself with how much crazy Santorum brings to the table.

  6. socialistic ben says:

V, OBVIOUSLY the bears were on their side in WW2. … either that, or stalin used them as bear bait. point is, and brother froth realizes this…. women in combat = new war with bears. and those bears have lazers. is your equality SO IMPORTANT that you would subject others to lazer-bear attacks? selfish.

  7. Aoine says:

IF Santorum knew anything, he would know that in times of high strees i.e. a combat situation, the only emotion one has time for is FUC**ing FEAR and SURVIVAL.

we are all human, emotion is a higher function – more basic to that is the reptilian brain and the sympathetic and para-sympathetic nervous system –

you know – the “fight/flight” response, inherent in us all

black, white, brown, red, yellow. male. female, and anywhere in between or combination there of

But then again – why would we expect him to know his ass from a hole in the wall?
Just another low intelligence. low information nut job.

Frank Knotts is recovering nicely from what can only have been a brain transplant, or some kind of Flowers for Algernon thing. He is now quite eloquent and I wish I could write as well as this from Frank, who is speaking to his colleagues here about the contraception issue:

I don’t understand why so many of you are upset about this government intrusion into your faith. Many of you are the same ones who were demanding that public meetings be lead in prayer by elected officials. That public schools have a designated time specifically for prayer. Why? if you are so in favor of blending your faith into government, are you shocked and outraged that the other side now wants to inject government into you faith?

So many of you have been willing to dilute the establishment clause of the First Amendment so as to demand the “power” to have a government sanctioned prayer at meetings and in schools, now you see that in return the other side is willing to dilute the prohibit clause to allow them to mandate behaviour of faith based organizations.

This is exactly what James Madison and others were warning us about when they cautioned us against the mingling of faith and government.
You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Frank, I think there will be an opening on the Supreme Court next term… Are you available?

At last, a name for my new cat.
