New Gingrich

Newt Gingrich might have called out Mitt Romney on his “pious baloney,” but poor Newt might now be classified as “desperate baloney” after being eclipsed this week by the frothy Rick Santorum in Colorado and Minnesota.

I would have mentioned Missouri, but Gingrich’s campaign was so unorganized that poor Newt wasn’t even on the ballot.

After losing Florida, Gingrich’s new strategy is to seek delegates and survive until Super Tuesday, where geography favors him more than the other candidates. Oklahoma, Tennessee and Ohio all vote on March 6, as does Georgia, his home state.

On the other hand, so does Virginia, another state that Gingrich failed to quality for the ballot, despite the fact it’s his current home state (a true Washington outsider).

It would have been nice to have one of the lead-off primaries. Seeing the WGMD listening to, 9/12 freedumb, nutbag brigade smack down the Greenville set is always good for a chuckle.

Desparate Baloney is right. Delusional Baloney also works. Here’s Newtie at CPAC working hard to conjure up the ghost of Lee Atwater:

“I, frankly, don’t care what deal he tries to cut,” Gingrich said in an afternoon speech, referring to the administration’s “accommodation” with religious groups on a proposed mandate for birth control. “We cannot trust him, we know who he really is, and we should make sure the country knows who he really is”.

    Flopsweat City.

  3. PPP released a new national poll today which had Santorum 38, Romney 23, Gingrich 17 & Paul 13. they also said Santorum is now leading Romney in Michigan.

  4. Perry says:

Romney and Gingrich destroy each other on a daily basis, while Santorum glides along on his social extremism with which most Conservatives either agree or just let go by.

Thanks to Citizens’ United, we are now in a new era known as the Super PAC era, drowning out all discourse except for negativism and personal attacks, to a degree unseen until now. As a result, as we have already seen with Newt and Romney, anything can happen, illustrating how poorly informed Republican primary voters really are, at least so far. It appears that voters have little resistance to this kind of negative campaigning.

Of course these Super PAC’s can be used for positive messaging, which I hope will happen for President Obama. This messaging would also refute the negative onslaught against his candidacy which we all know is going to happen.

Don’t be too quick to count out Gingrich… Hours ago I would have said he’s toast… But then… I read the Santorum Feed…

Santorum: says Protestents are not Christains.
Santorum: forbid DC Soldiers Home from selling property on market, and instead, wrote in legislation that it be deeded it to Catholic University, costing the USA $27 million dollars.
Santorum: Says Obama believes in “phony” Christainity.

These three breaking revelations correlated by press clippings, are a little kooky… especially to Protestants…. who happen to make up the bulk of Republican evangelicals, and who, have a great distrust of the Pope… still… Santorum looks like he is working for the Pope, not America’s citizens..

And there is still the voodoo to contend with… that whoever wins South Carolina wins the nomination……

Just saying… Gingrich may rise again… (third time, if so, right?) lol..
