General Assembly Post-Game Wrap-Up/Pre-Game Show: Thurs., Jan. 26, 2012

Today is Budget Day

Governor Markell will release his recommended Fiscal Year 2013 Operating Budget and Capital Improvements Budget today at a press […]

Miss Manners Would Be Appalled At Jan Brewer’s Classless Behavior

Jan Brewer obviously wasn’t raised right. “I asked him if he had read my book, ‘Scorpions for Breakfast.’ And he said that he read an excerpt and he didn’t think that I was very cordial,” Brewer said in the phone call to KFYI’s Mike Broomhead. “I said, ‘Well, we’ll just agree to disagree.’ And , […]

In addition to passing two City of Dover charter changes, the Senate also passed Colin Bonini’s annual ‘contribution’ to the legislative mix. That’s right. Recognizing Feb. 6 as ‘Ronald Reagan Day’ in Delaware. I got […]

She is resigning this week from Congress, so this is perhaps the last time we will see her at a State of the Union. She says she will return after she focuses on her recovery, but you never know. Knowing that, these scenes were very emotional:

I enjoyed the multiple digs at Romney, whom the White House clearly thinks will still be the GOP nominee this fall. But the way he wrapped tax fairness as patriotic (and it really is, because the selfish greed of the 1% is not in any way patriotic), for the first time making the Democratic case that if you give tax cuts to the wealthy you have to take away a hell of a lot from everyone else, was brilliant.
