Frank Knotts’ Last Post At Delaware Politics?

Filed in Delaware by on January 30, 2012

Frank Knotts, a contributor at Delaware Politics, has written a post about other contributors penchant for deleting comments they simply don’t agree with.  This deleting of comments has been going on for quite a while, and fingers are being pointed at Don Ayotte – rightly so, imo.

For the second time today I have been made aware of people being blocked and banned from this site.

I have been made aware in the past of this practice. In some cases I have understood the reason, but many times it has seemed to me to be an attempt to either silence opposition to a contributors view point or simply because a comment was determined to be a personal attack. This has become a very broad definition.

[…]

I would hope that I could continue to participate here at D P, but knowing that if I were not one of the contributors, I would surely be one of the banned, makes me wonder if I can continue to be associated with the site or some of those who contribute here.

What’s been going on at Delaware Politics mirrors what’s happening at the national level to the GOP… unless someone has another explanation of the “Not Romney” sensation.  Look at it this way… what are the odds that Frank Knotts would ever vote for Don Ayotte, or vice versa?  Unbelievably, the GOP has split into even tinier segments, and these segments are firmly entrenched.  I don’t see them budging, and I sure don’t see all of them holding their noses and voting for the other guy.

Yet again, Delaware is seeing this split up close and personal.  Frank Knotts is a Conservative, but Don Ayotte is a Super-duper Conservative who has labeled Frank a RINO.  Which is kind of funny and completely ridiculous.  It’s also the end result of the purity contest.

No matter who wins that contest, the deleting of comments at Delaware Politics has become a problem.  Some threads are extremely difficult to read due to the gaps in conversation, and it seems to me that, however this plays out, Delaware Politics will have one less contributor.

When it comes time, they will all fall in line, vote against the black dude (and vote FOR the same person) and say they were united all along. didnt anyone else get a copy of the script?

  2. Aoine says:

what is acary is that Don Ayotte is running for County Council – he has already lied about Joan Deaver and misrepresented her stance on DP.

Now, he is acting like a 5 year old (as usual) and has come unglued regarding the post deletes. No one else at DP with Admin authority has stepped up to take responsibility. Because Don is responsible

He claims to both have been in bed with a stomach flu while simulaneously visiting his son in Newark – his autustic son as he point out, So I dont think his son was caring for him.
If the story stinks it stinks…..and this one stinks

Frank, altho I do not agree with his viwes, is thoughtful and reasoning – without being hateful. Don is hateful and I feel unstable, in all ways. I have had the pleasure to see both of them in action.

Don also supports the Sheriff, Bodenweiser and prayer in government IRSD and County Council.

FOr all his “christianity” one would think he would tell the truth at least – but then again….whatever means necessary seems to be the NO of the FAR RIGHT

  3. pandora says:

Not sure about that, Ben. All of this has become very personal. Lines have been drawn. Sussex Republicans and National Republicans aren’t budging when it comes to their guy. Whether it’s national or local (Sussex) this isn’t about policy.

This isn’t about preferring one candidate over the other. This is about hating the other guy; about believing anyone is better than him. This isn’t 2008 where Ds preferred one candidate over the other – and yes, there were some Ds who hated a candidate, but not like this.

Here’s what I believe is on the line for Conservatives: They can line up behind Romney and shut up, or they can turn their backs on him, let Obama win and keep screeching… at Obama and how Romney wasn’t conservative enough.

  4. Geezer says:

One wonders how much government help Mr. Ayotte has received in caring for his autistic son. How surprised would anyone be if it turned out that Mr. Ayotte is one of those “government help for me but not for thee” conservatives?

  5. fightingbluehen says:

I’m sure you all have broken out the popcorn by now. Try a little Old Bay seasoning on it.

  6. socialistic ben says:

pan, knowing what i have come to know about conservatives, they will line up behind Romney and by the end of his first year he will be hailed by Fox and the dittoheads as a great second coming of Reagan.

  7. Geezer says:

FBH: Excellent suggestion. Curry powder is good on popcorn, too.

  8. Dave says:

Why not invite Frank to post here? Regardless of whether one agrees with him, he is thoughtful and his posts would result in robust discussion and comment. Plus he might appreciate not being censored.

  9. pandora says:

Frank Knotts writing for Delaware Liberal? Not seeing it.

David Anderson needs to get control of his blog.

  10. Dave says:

Liberal/Conservative/Whatever. Labels are unimportant. Only ideas and solutions matter. Just my opinion.

  11. Jason330 says:

Geezer, I raised the question of how much government help Mr. Ayotte has received on Delaware Politics (not with his son, but in general). I also also Protack if it was the government that screwed him out of his pension – or a corporation that screwed him out of his pension.

Both questions were deleted within a few minutes, so I guess asking questions constitutes a personal attack.

  12. Geezer says:

Jason: Not surprising. I don’t understand why the people over there have a blog. They aren’t interested in hearing anything they disagree with.

I’m going to go ahead and assume Mr. Ayotte is as hypocritical as he is stupid, which is saying something.

  13. MJ says:

Frank has been very public about questioning the ethics of Urkel using his hour-long “show” each Wednesday with the Fatman to promote his senate candidacy. While Urkel has been cordial (at least on the air) about it, Fatman has been abusive to Frank and I’m sure a few others in the St. Bodie Girl camp have been too.

Actually, I enjoy discussing things with Frank – at least he doesn’t talk about spanking me.

Oh, and it seems as though I have been unbanned over at DP. Don’t know if that’s a good thing or not.

  14. Grin says:

Jason 330:”I also also Protack if it was the government that screwed him out of his pension – or a corporation that screwed him out of his pension.”

My brother works for united as a mechanic, the company bought out his pension with stocks a few years ago, then the stock took a dump. The Union went to the court and the court sided with the company. So I’d say the company and the govt. both.

  15. liberalgeek says:

Protack is with Delta, although I’m sure the song is the same.

  16. pandora says:

    David Anderson responds:

I have investigated the controversial deletion of the comment in Mr. Frank Knotts post. It seems that no one deleted it. On occassion, the spam filter hiccups as some frequent commenters know. I apologize to the agrevied party and I am happy the comment was rescued.

Um… the comment in question did post on the blog. I read it on the blog, in the comment section. Does Delaware Politics’ spam filter randomly grab posted comments and then delete them? Is that even possible?

  17. Grin says:

I once posted three links in one post at DP. The post never showed. I thought it was deleted and asked DA. He said there was some kind of filter that didn’t like posts with too many links.

  18. pandora says:

That does happen with links, Grin. However, the comment Frank wrote about did post.

  19. Jason330 says:

    Anderson lied? I’m shocked. Shocked!!

  20. pandora says:

Unless you’ve ever heard about a spam filter that randomly plucks out already posted comments, Jason? I didn’t think spam filters were capable of that.

  21. kavips says:

Well, I used to pick spam out of my eggs sometimes, and so, it is not impossible that machines would one day rise to the minimal level of human capacity.

  22. Jason330 says:

I, for one, welcome the ascendency of our computer overlords. In the meantime I’ll expect 1/2 of my DP comments to be filtered by David’s magical 3 minute delay spam filter.

  23. MJ says:

Well, that was short-lived. A simple comment to Don advising him that he should stop commenting on blogs since he’s a candidate was deleted. Wonder how David Anderson will explain that one.

  24. pandora says:

    Oh my, MJ.

Let’s review… The deleting of comments causes a contributor to write a post. Commenters and another contributor agree with Frank Knotts and ask David Anderson to step in and deal with this rampant problem. David Anderson gets on the phone and talks to his contributors, then makes up a story about a magical spam filter that is capable of going back in time to delete already published comments. MJ posts a comment today and it gets deleted.

Summary: David Anderson can’t control his blog because certain contributors won’t listen to him.

  25. anon says:

MJ-they deleted your comment about your comment being deleted.

  26. puck says:

Let’s not forget that blog began with (presumably) the founder deleting mass quantities of his own comments before handing it over to David. It is part of the conservative DNA.

  27. MJ says:

Actually, they deleted my comment to Ayotte advising him to stop commenting on blogs if he’s running for office.

  28. Just Some Guy says:

MJ:Actually, they deleted my comment to Ayotte advising him to stop commenting on blogs if he’s running for office.

This advice only applies on other sites or only to candidates you don’t like?

  29. MJ says:

Ayotte is a loose canon, and his posts and comments are going to come back and bite him in the ass.

  30. justSomeGuy says:

Makes you no less of a hypocritice for your comment. Either candidates can post or not. Then feel free say what you wish about them.

  31. MJ says:

I didn’t tell him that he COULDN’t post so I fail to see what was hypocritical about it. It was some friendly advice, which I’m sure he won’t take. In fact, others have advised him of the same thing. But then again, we’re used to your (il)logic around here.

  32. justSomeGuy says:

You said he should not post not that he could not post because he is a candidate for office. It logically follows that you would apply the same standard to other candidates for office. You can’t hide your hypocrisy behind your sanctimonious bully boy bullshit.

  33. MJ says:

JSG – you know you’re spouting bullshit right now, don’t you? I made a suggestion – that’s all. Really simple. But in your own, warped mind, you’ve twisted this around as though I issued an edict. Have you ever read some of his stuff? From your comments, it’s obvious that you haven’t.

  34. justSomeGuy says:

If you had said the guy should not post because he is an idiot & cretin I would have had no criticism. That’s not what you said.

  35. MJ says:

JSG – answer the question! Have you EVER read anything that Ayotte has written? Simple yes or no. Don’t wait for the translation, yes or no?

  36. Just Some Guy says:

Reread my last post figure it out for yourself 🙂 Now I must get my rest to get up and guess the picture in the morning.

  37. MJ says:

Since you didn’t answer the question, it’s obvious that you haven’t read any of Ayotte’s posts or comments. Typical JSG – commenting on things you know nothing about.

Just figured out why you got that chip on your shoulder over this – we’ve smacked around your girl KWS and you’re upset. Wahhhhhhhhhhh.

  38. Just Some Guy says:

Whats obvious is you are a bully and and press your bully ways when folks don’t dance to your tune. I pointed out that you are as well a hypocrite. It is now 9PM and I have an early call. See ya wouldn’t wanna be ya.

  39. MJ says:

JSG – you’re so full of shit your eyes are brown. No bullying. I offered someone advice. You didn’t like it so you decide to make a vitriolic attack. Typical of KWS supporters (and COD supporters, too).

You haven’t been able to back any of your posts on here with facts. Just useless rhetoric.

And now we know you have a mind of a middle schooler (see ya ….). Grow up.
