Santorum Wins!

Filed in National by on January 19, 2012

Just thought he deserved the headline.

Via TPM:

The Republican party of Iowa has finished it’s recount of the January 3rd Iowa caucuses and the certified final results show Rick Santorum came out ahead by 34 votes. So he ‘won’, right?

Well, not according to the state GOP. According to the state party it’s a “split decision” or a “tie.”

The rationale for calling this a tie, according to the Des Moines Register, which has the story as an exclusive, is that 8 precincts’ numbers are lost permanently and will never be certified.

What is it with Republicans and “lost” or “suddenly discovered” votes?

The same thing behind their silly voter ID efforts — disenfranchising some voters is an acceptable path to winning for them. It is particularly desperate that they would disenfranchise their own. The initial 8 vote win by Romney let the media run with their frontrunner narrative and now look.

More awesome news: “Rick Perry will reportedly drop out of the Republican presidential race Thursday and give his endorsement to Newt Gingrich.”

Go Newt! If this is part of Obama’s long game – I’m 100% down with it.

I love how this doesn’t grab the headline in any of the newsernets. (not any of my usual stops)
It just shows how little the Religious Right in the country matters….. even to their own party.

To social conservative voters….. the people who claim to represent you are using you, they make you poorer while making themselves richer, they will never let you run the show.

OMG! Skydad loves me. “100 Tea Party leaders will endorse Newt Gingrich and form Tea Partiers With Newt, reports the Daily Caller.”

(Figurative and possibly literal) blood on the RNC convention floor, the GOP hopelessly divided.

Republicans can’t count but they want control of the economy they tanked over 3 years ago. Go figure
