Late Night Video — It’s Beginning to Look Alot Like Gingrich!

This is very funny and very clever, even though Gingrich’s support seems to be crashing (at least in Iowa)

Sussex County Smackdown – Round Four

It’s official. The AG’s office will not prosecute Vance Phillips for his alleged assault on Sheriff Woody.
In a four page letter delivered to Georgetown Police Chief William Topping today, Sussex County Chief Prosecutor Paula Ryan advised that the “Department of Justice [will] forego prosecution of the above referenced matter.”
She called into question Christopher’s veracity, [...]

Ho Hum…Congressional Democrats played for fools again

When the Republicans get their tar sand pipeline, I know a lot of my fellows liberals will blame Obama. Sure he’ll be due his share of the blame.

But hasn’t it occurred to anyone that the reason Republicans are constantly able to screw the country is because we have Democrats like John Carney and Tom Carper who are entirely too eager to appear to be “bi-partisan?”

What is the fucking point of being “bi-partisan” when it only means doing everything that Boehner and McConnell tell you to do?

I mean… is it me?

Better Make Sure There’s a Lock on that Closet

It’s happened again to another RWNJ rethuglican politician.
Greg Davis, the mayor of Southaven, Mississippi, “who ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2008 on a conservative, family-values platform” according to the Commercial Appeal, has been forced out of the closet over receipts uncovered in a criminal investigation over misused expenses. The receipts included “thousands of dollars worth [...]

DE GOP Goes full on crazy – OR – In a room full of deranged nutbags, could you spot the VERY deranged nutbags?

Celia Cohen writes…

Newt Gingrich, who has been left for dead in politics enough times to be the envy of Richard Nixon, nevertheless nudged out Mitt Romney in a modest presidential straw poll, taken Wednesday evening by the state Republicans at a Delaware Day dinner.

The tally had Gingrich with 39 votes, Romney with 38 votes, Rick Santorum from neighboring Pennsylvania with six votes, Ron Paul with five votes, and five other candidates splitting another 10 votes, including two write-ins for Sarah Palin.

Another Pat Tillman?

It appears that we might have another Pat Tillman-like case on our hands. Tillman, you may remember, was an outstanding defensive player for the Arizona Cardinals, who gave up his career and enlisted in the Army after 9/11. He was killed in the line of duty. Only later, after questions from his [...]

Members of the Occupy Delaware movement protest the sheriff’s sale at the City/County building in Wilmington on Tuesday

As the monthly New Castle County Sheriff sale was getting underway, members of Occupy Delaware stood up on cue to send their message loud and clear. “We demand a halt to fore closures, now!,” the group shouted. “Stop foreclosures! People, not profits!” Their signs simply said “STOP.”

Dr. John E. Stapleford is a dishonest fraud

I made the mistake of reading an email that I got from the CRI’s dishonest fraud, Dr. John E. Stapleford. Stappy sucked me in by sounding almost human for a second.

Wednesday Open Thread [12.14.11]

“If Governor Perry, a self-proclaimed Christian, is really interested in channeling the cares and concerns of Jesus, he might consider saying a word about poverty and injustice, which seemed to have concerned Jesus even more than gays in the military. Sometimes the worst advertisements for Christianity are its adherents.”

Castle’s Signature Achievement is a “Waste.” Castle Agrees.

Mike Castle likes coins. He likes coins so much that he has sponsored various pieces of legislation regarding coins. The state quarter thing, that was Castle. Coins celebrating the national parks, that was Castle. The Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005? Castle’s idea. An idea so popular and wanted with and by the people that 1.4 billion coins are sitting in the Federal Reserve’s valuts due to lack of demand.

Did Tony DeLuca Resign From the State Senate And Not Even Know It?

I believe that the answer is yes. I believe that legal precedent established in this state also says yes. I believe that, according to law, Tony DeLuca is illegally serving as President Pro-Tempore of the Delaware State Senate and illegally serving as a member of the Delaware State Senate. I shall now proceed to explain to you why I believe this to be true.

Christine O’Donnell to Endorse Tonight.

The most prized endorsement in the history of mankind will be announced tonight, according to an email from the Friends of Christine O’Donnell (she has friends?). I am sure you cannot wait another moment. Will she side with the vile and toxic Ann Coulter and stick with Romney? Will she jump on the Gingrich bandwagon? Will she stay true to her anti-sex anti-gay anti-masturbation and anti-reason principles and endorse the frothy mix that is Rick Santorum?

Senator Coons blasts republicans over Cordray filibuster and general assholishness

In refreshingly honest and direct language, Senator Chris Coons blasted the GOP for blocking the appointment of Richard Cordray, President Obama’s pick to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Agency. In an interview on the liberal leaning Bill Press show, Coons stated, “I think he should have been confirmed and again it is just part of a theme here. Filibuster, filibuster filibuster. We can’t even get to a vote on important nominations.” Coons called into the interview this morning while commuting to Washington on Amtrak.
