War memorial Brandywine Park near Baynard Blvd. just a bit over Washington Street Bridge

  2. Actually, for extra credit, while this is a War Memorial, whom does this memorial honor?

Anyone living in the Triangle neighborhood, resist the urge to run down there and look. LOL.

Based on the doughboy gear and list of what are apparently names, I’d say local casualties of WWI.

…hmmm, on second look maybe it’s a narrative and not names, so it could be for an individual.

  4. No. I will give you a hint. This memorial is not specific to any one war.

  5. Okay… let me think. I walk past this all the time. Is it a memorial to African American service men? I think I remember reading that one day as I walked by. If I’m wrong… shame on me!

  6. Yes. It is a national memorial to all the African American Medal of Honor receipients.
