Video Discovered of Sheriff Christopher in Action
I have just found video of Sheriff Jeff Christopher in action down here in Sussex County. He makes his appearance at 12:20 in the video. For the pointy-headed munchkins over at DP, this is parody.
Mississippi Personhood
A constitutional amendment facing voters in Mississippi on Nov. 8, and similar initiatives brewing in half a dozen other states including Florida and Ohio, would declare a fertilized human egg to be a legal person, effectively branding abortion and some forms of birth control as murder.
Talking About The Weather Is No longer Mundane
Snow in October? Seriously? Half the trees in my neighborhood are still green, the others have turned but haven’t dropped most of their leaves.
Comment Rescue: Your New and More Conservative State GOP.
So this is the new and more conservative Delaware GOP? Christine O’Donnell and her lawyer suing each other, Sussex County Councilman Vance Phillips and Sheriff Jeff Christopher in a physical altercation, State Party Chairman John Sigler putting the seal of approval on racism, and Dover City Councilman David Anderson using the Holocaust for political laughs. Delaware Democrats need to invent a word for “way the Hell more than a super majority.”
Zombie Casino Alert!
It’s not quite the Zombie Apocalpyse (Casino Edition), but Delaware’s casinos have formally asked for the state to make them healthy. Or, at least, healthier. According to this NJ article, Delaware’s casinos will be asking for givebacks to the tune of $10M on licence fees as well as for the state to reduce the taxes on the games and slots.
Thursday Open Thread [10.27.11]
Chelsea Clinton for Congress? Oh, and, if the economy is improving, what is the GOP Plan B? The only way they can win in 2012 is on economic frustration.
What Does Romney Stand For? Nothing, As Far As I Can Tell
Up until recently I never gave Mitt Romney much thought. He was just sort of there. And while I’d never vote for him, I never viewed him as horrible. Which was why I kept my eye on him. Out of all the Republican candidates Romney was the one I considered the biggest threat to Obama. The reason I viewed him as a threat was his ability to appear reasonable and sane, and with the economy the way it is I could see people being comfortable with voting for him. I don’t see that any more.
Tempers Flaring in Sussex? – UPDATED
We received a tip this evening that there was some sort of physical altercation at County Council between Councilman Vance Phillips and Sheriff Jeff Christopher. Georgetown Police were called to the County Council Building by the sheriff. The matter is under investigation by the police and no arrests have been made at this time. Note that during this altercation, one of the people was armed (guess who?).
